If you visit Shantou Small Park, you will be amazed at the beauty of the blocks there. The streets in this area are lined with shop houses from the 19th and early 20th century. In front of the shop houses there is always a five-foot way, which might be translated into Teochewnese as ngó -kha-gi.
A five-foot way is a sheltered (遮盖的) walkway in front of ground-floor shops in a street. Over the way is the second floors of those buildings. Such ways are commonly seen in Southern China and Southeast Asia. As the name suggests, the walkways are usually five feet across. This makes it possible for people to walk around in heavy rains or on hot sunny days without getting wet or sun-burnt.
The five-foot way used to be a mixture of private and public space. Bikes were usually parked in the way. On hot summer nights, people would put some bamboo chairs out, making some tea or lying down to enjoy the cool. Later, five-foot ways were used for business activities. The space in front of shop houses was wide, and there was good human traffic. These made five-foot ways excellent places to do business. You can imagine that the five-foot ways in front of shop houses were terribly crowded at that time, and busy with all kinds of activities. And business activities started to spread out onto the walkways, from clothes sales to shoe repair. These businesses were usually small and mobile.
Although businesses such as storytelling and letter writing are no longer around today, the five-foot ways are conserved. Nowadays in Shantou, tourists can still take a walk along the ways to experience the good old days of the Small Park.
56. The writer mentions Shantou Small Park because it has ________.
A. crowded streets B. five-foot ways
C. amazing shop houses D. beautiful modern blocks
57. Why did a five-foot way have such a design at the beginning
A. To make the streets wider. B. To get more tourists.
C. To have more shop houses. D. To suit the local climate.
58. Which made the five-foot way a good business place
A. Bikes were parked in the way. B. The businesses were mobile.
C. People enjoyed the outdoor air. D. Many people walked on it every day.
59. What does the underlined word “conserve” in the last paragraph mean
A. To change. B. To burn down.
C. To keep in a good state. D. To close and block.
60. Which is the structure (结构) of this passage

ChatGPT is an AI system (系统) that can have a discussion and create written work. It can create material based on what it has learned from digital books and online passages. Now three high school students in Cyprus have developed an unusual robot with the help of their teachers. It is unusual as it uses ChatGPT AI technology.
The robot is named AInstein. It is the size of a small adult and even has a screen for a face that appears to show human facial expressions. It speaks a North American form of English. And it can tell jokes, like “Why was the math book sad Because it had too many problems.” The robot enjoys reading science books and spending time playing the violin.
The creators of AInstein want to use the technology to improve learning experiences in the classroom. In fact, there might be a place for robots in education after all. British education expert Anthony Seldon predicts that robots will take over the classroom in 2027 and teachers will work as their helpers.
One thing is certain, though. A robot teacher is better than no teacher at all. In some parts of the world, there aren’t enough teachers and 9–16 percent of children under the age of 14 don’t go to school. That problem could be partly solved by robots, because they can teach anywhere and won’t get stressed, or tired, or move somewhere for an easier, higher-paid job.

Dear Editor,
I read the article about robot teachers in your newspaper the other day, and I carried out a survey among my classmates about whether they would like to have robot teachers in the classroom.
The result shows that 48% of my classmates welcome robot teachers while 44% don’t like the idea of having a robot teacher. Besides, 8% of them don’t have a clear idea about this.
As for me, I will be excited if we can have a robot teacher. For one thing, I strongly believe that I can learn more from a robot teacher since it can provide us with the latest information around the world. For another, students may get more help from a robot teacher because it never gets tired.
All in all, I’m sure robot teachers can bring something different to our class. (104 w)

As for me, I don’t think it a good idea to have a robot teacher. For one thing, a robot doesn’t have feelings like human teachers, so it may not be able to truly understand our problems. For another, it may give us too much work to do as it never gets tired.
All in all, I’m sure robot teachers do not work as well as human teachers. (100 w)
