apologize, apology, sorry
评卷时，发现许多同学在使用某一类应用文关键词的时候常常出错，如在写邀请信时，要么是invite搭配错误，要么是出现拼写错误，写成了invent，甚至根本就没有出现表示应用功能的关键词invite。对于这类试卷，评卷老师会直接给不及格的分数，更不必说得高分了。从根本上说，这是基础问题，这样的错误纯属低级错误，很难得到评卷老师的原谅。所以，同学们一定要花些时间牢记这些关键词的用法，减少低级错误，争取应用文得高分。
“道歉，歉意”的关键词---apologize, apology, sorry。
apologize
1.apologize(to sb) for (doing) sth
因...而向某人道歉
☉I think you should apologize to your brother.
我觉得你应该给你弟弟赔个不是。
☉He later apologized for his behaviour.
他后来为自己的行为道了歉。
☉I apologize for losing my temper.
我道歉，我不该发脾气的。

2. 在日常英语中，人们经常用短语say sorry to sb 或tell someone you are sorry，而不说apologize (to sb)

2.与动词搭配
get（receive) an apology 接到道歉
offer an apology 表示歉意
accept one's apology 接受某人的道歉
demand an apology 要求道歉
owe sb an apology 向某人道歉

2. be sorry about/for + doing sth
因做...而抱歉(后接动名词)

3. say sorry (to sb) 向某人道歉
☉If you say you're sorry, we'll forgive you.
你要是道歉，我们就原谅你。
4. be sorry that 从句 因...而抱歉
☉She was sorry that she'd lost her temper.
她为自己发了脾气而感到抱歉。
=She apologized for losing my temper.
