Initially, I tally believed that Daddy wanted a boy. I could just imagine his disappointment when I was born. What always frustrated me was that he never tried hiding his feelings from me, He had hoped a boy who would help him with the farm and finally step into his shoes. But a girl...
I tried to do everything just to please Daddy. Not only did 1 get up early to help with the housework, but also some tidy work on the farm. What’s more, I went home straight from school, expecting that I was needed. But he didn’t seem to be moved by those at all, let alone putting on a smile.
The year I turned thirteen was the 100th birthday of our town, The town council decided to hold a parade（游行）, and they wanted a young lady who could lead the parade. The families in the area were asked to send pictures of their children. Every parent in the area hoped that their daughter would be chosen, every parent except Daddy.
Mommy sent in a picture of me without telling me. I was always so busy being the boy Daddy wanted, and I never considered having the chance to lead the parade. So it was quite a surprise when the town council stopped by one evening to tell us I had been chosen. Mommy was excited. As I anticipated, Daddy showed no interest in the matter.
The day of the big parade finally arrived. I was dressed in a beautiful white dress. At first I felt shy — I’d hardly ever worn dresses. But soon I felt like a princess in a fairy tale.

Overall, this discussion highlighted the need for continued examination of AI's role in English
learning as we strive to create effective and engaging learning environments.

Paragraph 1 As the parade passed down the main street of our town, I saw Mommy and Daddy on the pared to Mum in ecstasy the moment she saw me, Daddy just remained cold, poker-faced. The ignited/sparked happiness inside me suddenly vanished."Hey, you look so gorgeous!"I was grabbed back to the parade by those compliments from the crowd. Surrounded by thunderous applause and cheers, I straightened up my body, and resumed my duty of leading the parade. Looking at those beaming faces on the side, I suddenly felt a wave of pride surging though myself, especially when I caught sight of a familiar figure, my father, moving to the end of the parade together with my marching. At the moment, I couldn’t wait to see how my father would react after the parade.
Paragraph 2 As I went back from the parade, Daddy stood in front of the gate, smiling. At the sight of his face lighting up, I murmured,"Was Daddy smiling to me Was that a dream " Mingled with excitement and confusion, I just stood, rooted to the ground, lost in deep thought. My father came by and rubbed my head affectionately, praising that I did quite a good job, and I was the best girl that he had ever known. Virtually, never in my life had I imagined those words uttered by my rigid father. Ultimately, I proved myself! When I was immersed in the afterglow of my father's recognition, it suddenly dawned on me that we all have our own glittering merits, and being a true and confident self is always a way out.

I was on my way to the park when I saw Ollie sitting on his steps. “It’s finally nice spring weather,” I called. “Want to come skateboard ” “Shhh,” he said softly. “You’ll scare him away!”
I was about to say “Who ” when I noticed the cutest little bird in the world just sat on Ollie’s shoulder. “Whoa!” I whispered. “Where did he come from ” “He landed on this flowerpot,” said Ollie. “And when I bent down to make sure he was OK, he just jumped right onto my shoulder!” “This one definitely acts like somebody’s lost pet,” I believed. “I agree,” said Ollie. “His owner must be so worried!”
“Hi,” I said softly to the bird. “I wish you could tell us your name.” And right then, the bird chirped (叽喳叫) back. Ollie smiled. “I don’t exactly speak bird language, but I’m pretty sure he just said his name is Blue.” “Is Ollie right ” I asked. “If your name really is Blue, will you sing us a song ” And I know this sounds unbelievable, but Blue seemed to understand—because right then, he chirped a lot more!
When Ollie’s grandma, Abuela, stepped outside and saw the bird, she was very astonished. “This is a big adventure for such a small bird!” she said. “Let’s get you a nice drink of water and give the animal shelter a call.”
Abuela brought out a dish of water and the phone. Soon we got through to the animal shelter. “Sorry,” the man said. “No birds have been reported missing this week. You may as well put flyers (传单) up in your area and you can also check the Found Animal recordings every day.”
Luckily, Abuela’s friend Michiko, knowing all about birds, came over with a spare cage. “His name is Blue,” Ollie told her. “You know, until we find his owner.” “What an adorable bird!” Michiko screamed.

Raising a pet may be a genuine wish deeply rooted in every human’s heart. And my dream is to raise a dog.
The reasons are as follows. First, raising a dog not only means knowing more about animals and nature, living more harmonious life with the universe, but also helps us to improve our kindness and patience. Furthermore, dogs symbolize devotion and loyalty to their owners, which always offers me the feelings that when being with my pet dog, I am being protected in safety and having someone to depend on in emotions. That afternoon, Ollie and I made lots of Found Bird flyers. But for Abuela, armed with skills of attending to birds, took care of Blue. The chirping bird sang songs in the cage like a happy angel.“I’m going to miss you when you’re gone.” “Me too! Could we keep him ” said Ollie. Abuela thought for a while. “I suppose, maybe, if nobody claims him. But we’re still going to try our best to find his owner since his owner could have been very upset without his accompany.” Although feeling bad of it, we put up all the flyers. And for a month and a half, we kept checking the Found Animal recording. Nonetheless, no one claimed Blue yet.
Another week passed before Ollie got a call from the animal shelter. Ollie instantly knew someone had claimed Blue. Once meeting with the owner, amazingly, we found Blue was really the bird’s name. The owner explained she was driving just outside our town and Blue accidentally flew out of the car. She gave us a thankful hug, with Blue hopping and chirping on her shoulder. “No words could fully express my gratitude to you, without whom I could have led a lonely life!” she wept. Both of us were unwilling to leave Blue but we would be much delighted to see that Blue reunite with his previous owner. (108+97)
