The origin of the Dragon Boat Festival
Duanwu Festival, or Dragon boat festival, is on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. It is on June 3rd this year. It is a very important Chinese festival. People celebrate on this day to remember a great poet-Qu Yuan.
端午节，又叫龙舟节，为每年的农历五月初五。今年的端午节是6月3号。它是我们中国很重要的一个传统节日。人们在这一天庆祝节日，以此来纪念伟大诗人-屈原。

Dragon boat race is a very important activity of the Dragon Boat Festival. Different teams row their dragon boats as fast as they can. The first team to reach the finishing line wins.
划龙舟是端午节一项非常重要的活动。不同的队伍以最快的速度划向终点，最先抵达重点的队伍获胜。
Eating Zongzi. Zongzi is also called rice dumpling. It is a traditional food of Dragon Boat Festival. There are many different flavors of rice dumplings, such as meat, red bean paste and red dates. 粽子是端午节的传统食物。粽子的口味有很多种，比如肉粽、红豆粽和红枣粽。
Hanging Wormwood. People usually hang wormwood on the front door on Dragon Boat Festival. This helps them to avoid disease and keep the family healthy.
人们常在端午节将艾草挂在前门，这能帮助他们避免疾病、保持健康。
Wearing a sachet. Parents often have their kids wear a sachet during the Dragon Boat Festival. It is a traditional Chinese handicraft which has different herbs inside.
端午节父母通常会给孩子佩戴香包。香包是我们中国的传统手工艺品，里面填满了各种香料。

On this day, we often have a tradition of having a dragon boat race, eating rice dumplings, hanging wormwood and wearing sachets.
My favorite part of this festival is eating rice dumplings. I like meat rice dumplings best.
