【辨析】 just与just now
①just 刚才；刚刚，常与现在完成时连用；
Miss Gao has just left. 高老师刚刚离开。
②just now 刚才，常与一般过去时连用，相当于a moment ago 。

yet作副词，意为“还，尚”，多用于现在完成时，用于否定句表示某事在某一时间尚未发生，但未来也许会发生。yet也可用于一般疑问句，意为“已经”。
I haven’t been to the Great Wall yet. 我还没有去过长城。
Have you finished your homework yet？你已经完成作业了吗？

①yet“尚，还；已经”，用于疑问句或否定句的末尾；
②already“已经”，通常用于肯定句，位于助动词之后，行为动词之前；
③ever“曾经”，多用于疑问句或否定句，位于助动词之后，行为动词
之前。
I haven’t seen the film yet. 我还没看过这部电影。
I have already seen the film. 我已看过这部电影。

4. Have you heard the latest news 你听最近的新闻了吗？
latest意为“最新的, 最近的, 最迟的”, 是形容词, 常放在名词前作定语。latest也可作副词, 意为“最迟地；最近地” 。
late 意为“晚的”, 是形容词, 其比较级是later。
later 也常用作副词, 表示“以后, 后来”。
She got up latest this morning.
她今天早上起床起得最晚。
Can you tell me your latest life
能告诉我你最近的生活吗？
She gets up later than my sister.
她比我妹妹起得晚。

5. The journey has taken several months. 这次旅程花费了几个月。
several意为“几个的,数个的”, 在句中作形容词；several也可意为“几个, 数个”, 作代词。

6. That’s why it’s on the news. 那就是它上新闻的原因。
(1) That’s why...表示“那就是……的原因”，常用于句首，后面常接结果。

(1) discover “发现”，指发现或偶然发现原本存在的、但一直不为人知
的东西;

Edison invented the electric light bulb.
爱迪生发明了电灯泡。
