These are the finest animated movies ever made. These entertaining animation classics are the best of a lasting, ever-developing modern art form.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
As the first ever animated feature film in history, this is also the first animated film to win Oscars.Despite the huge lack of funds,Walt Disney bet the farm(孤注一掷)on this musical fantasy. A lot of people thought he was crazy to believe audiences would connect the movie with hand-drawn creations in 80 minutes.
Mulan
Mulan was based on a Chinese legend and told the story of a woman who pretended to be a man, and replaced her father to fight in the war. The film took the idea of the Disney princesses and turned it on its head with a very strong-willed and powerful female leading the way. The film finally picked Oscars.

How could a general audience in 21st century empathize(产生共鸣) with a robot who barely says a word? Well, big-eyed, kind-hearted, sensitive and romantic WALL-E is one of the greatest wonders, and his dangerous journey through outer space is nothing short of fascination. You can expect this Oscar-winning movie to last as long as the great silent comedies of Charlie Chaplin.

The film tells the story of Simba, the little, who finally became the king of the grassland with the company of many enthusiastic friends. On a typical day, off the coast of a small Brazilian island, Pereira was headed out fishing. He was disheartened to find that an oil leak had polluted the waters. Staring out at the waves with their oil sheen(光泽),he decided it was not a good day to fish. But walking the beach that day, he found a struggling penguin, covered in oil and starving.
Pereira took the penguin home, gently cleaned it and spent the next week nursing it back to health, He named it Dindim, which belongs to a species known for living in the seas of South America. In order to bear babies, they must return to Patagonia, 8,000 kilometers from Pereira's home. Pereira patiently took Dindim back to the ocean and taught it how to swim again. Soon enough, it was time for Dindim to return to life in the wild. Pereira watched Dindim swim away, believing it would be the last time he saw it.
But the next June, Dindim returned. The two shared a warm-hearted greeting, and Dindim stayed for a month, wandering around the fisherman's house. The time to leave arrived, and Pereira thought this surely would be the last time he would see Dindim. But in the same month of the year after next, the penguin with a long memory returned again.
It is a common belief among scientists that animals have short memories. So, a couple of them put a tracking device on Dindim to see if it was indeed the same penguin that returned year after year. To their surprise, but not Pereira's, Dindim returned, year after year, for more than a decade.

A lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Dr Olabode Badiru, has called on the government to pay more attention to food security(安全)in the country to solve the rising cost of foods.
According to Dr Badiru, farmers need fertiliser and other agrochemicals like pesticides, insecticides(杀虫剂)and others to solve the problem of pests. All of these will cost much money. Besides that, we have the problem of insecurity that farmers are being chased away from the farm.
Dr Badiru also called on the government to address insecurity, saying farmers are afraid of going to farm. He advised Nigerians to grow vegetables and other eatable plants, raise small animals like sheep and goats and raise domestic animals in their houses.Beyond the backyards, he also said youths should be encouraged to go into farming despite the challenges involved.
The government at all levels, especially the states, must provide an enabling environment for willing citizens to engage in agriculture. Security is the key. Basic facilities, such as road and electricity, should be improved, We can start by pushing practical research products to the farms for adoption to strengthen farm productivity through a functional agricultural extension system. "Essentially, we must look for innovative ways of bringing the unit cost of agricultural production down, among other measures," he said.

As simple as it sounds, smiling can be the first step toward cheering yourself up. Re-search shows not only that you can bring joy to others even if you're unhappy, but also that doing so is a reliable way to improve your own health and happiness, too. The key is to act like a happy person even if you don't feel like it.
Last year, researchers at the University of California asked people to behave either outwardly or inwardly for one week. Those who purposely acted outwardly saw a significant in-crease in health and happiness, Similarly, paying for someone else and volunteering have been shown to raise one's own happiness levels.
One reasonable explanation is that positive behaviors lead to cognitive change. Try to tell yourself, "I feel unhappy, but I am acting happy!" That makes you feel happier. Psychologist Richard calls this the "As If Principle": If you want to feel a certain way,act as if you have already done, and your brain will give you that feeling,at least for a while. The famous painter Rockwell was in formal treatment most of his adult life. But his happy paintings were clearly part of his treatment. He was painting his hope.
So you can learn from Rockwell to bring joy to yourself and the people around you when you are down. First, ask what happy people will do to make terrible things better for them-selves and others, Next, make a plan to follow through on everything you've just imagined.Write three ideas for extra-kind greetings in a notebook and remind yourself in daily life. Listen to the sound of a happy person and use it as a model. By preparing yourself to cheer up your friends around you the way a happy person will, you'll create the conditions through which you can produce your own happiness naturally and give the gift of happiness to others as well.
32. How can we be happier according to paragraph 2?
A. By saving much money.
B.By cheating ourselves.
C.By keeping our secrets.
D.By assisting others.
33. Why is Rockwell mentioned in paragraph 3?
A. To list the application of "As If Principle".
B. To introduce some polite behaviors.
C. To introduce his paintings.
D. To show his artistic gift.
34.What does the author suggest doing when you feel unhappy?
A. Listening to blue music.
B.Asking friends for gifts.
C. Learning from happy people.
D. Writing the sad things in a notebook.
35. What is the main idea of the text?
A. The secret to health.
B. The reason for happiness.
C. Keep smiling, even if you fail.
D. Act happy, even when you're not.

Do you always try to leave a good impression on others? 36 Research shows that within seconds of seeing a person for the first time, we start to make judgments about their attractiveness, competence and trustworthiness. Fortunately, you have some control over how other people see you, Here are some ways to create a good first impression.
Dress well. 37 This is unfortunate, but you have to accept that people make snap judgments based on how you look. That means if you want to make a positive first impression, you need to dress well. Besides, you should dress appropriately for the different occasion.
Be on time. If it's your first meeting, then make sure to arrive on time. Late people come across as inconsiderate, which does not leave a good first impression. And if you keep some-one waiting, the other person may interpret it as a sign that you do not value their time. 38
Smile. Happy faces are perceived as trustworthy, so smiling could help you make a good first impression. But keep in mind that you should convey a genuine smile. 39 The best way to do this is by being in a good mood when meeting people. That way, you'll smile naturally.
40 A positive attitude will take you places. After all, most of us prefer to work with positive people. This means you should stick to uplifting topics and avoid bringing up issues in your personal life. For example, if you're having a bad day, don't talk about it. Along with this, you must control your reaction to bad news. Instead of getting upset, you should have a positive reaction to setbacks and problems.
A.Be positive.
B. Be polite and active.
C. Actually, people are quick to form impressions of each other.
D. Therefore, the best way to avoid being late is to set off earlier.

How I Got Through My Hard Time
第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
“Hey, honey!" I said, hugging my seven-year-old, Jean Prince, as she got off the bus."How was school?" I asked her as I always did.
"Well, not so real good," she replied, looking sad. "Everyone has their pictures on the Reading Bulletin Board(布告栏) but me. I never get my picture up,not for math or reading or anything."Her shoulders fell suddenly, and her chin began to shake clearly.
I'd like to believe that, with enough educational treatment, visits to the doctor, experimenting with different medicines for ADHD(多动症),and drill, practice, and patience at home, I can turn my Jean into a teacher's "dream child", the skilled and intelligent kid who gets everything right and never colors outside the lines.
But I can't. And every failure is yet another blow to me, as well as to Jean. Taking a deep breath,I turned on the“building self-esteem(自尊)”mode.“Well,honey,I'm sorry. But I'll bet something good happened to you today, didn't it? What was the best thing that you did today?" Jean took her own sweet time, thinking things through. To my relief, she wasn't, however, on the edge of tears anymore.
Finally, she brightened a bit and said slowly, "Yes, when I passed the gate of the park,I saw a little girl who was walking with her mother and she fell down and cried because her knee bled, I hurried home and took my Barbie doll and gave it to her. She loved it and stopped crying, her mother said thanks to me and I felt good."
"Sweetie, that's great!” I said excitedly.
"It is you who have told me that I should be kind and learn to share good things with others," Jean replied.
I learned that Jean had saved from her allowance(零花钱)for the past month to get that doll, which was her favorite, so I thought to myself, "I will tell all these to Mrs Doe, Jean's teacher."
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Later that night, after driving Jean home, I hurried to Mrs Doe's.
At 4:30 the next afternoon, Jean rushed to me happily at the school gate.

M:Hello. International Friends Club. Can I help you?
W:Oh, hello. I read about your club in the paper today and I thought I'd phone to find out a bit more.
M: Yes, certainly. Well, we are a sort of social club for people from different countries. It's quite a new club—we have about 50 members at the moment, but we are growing all the time.
W: That sounds interesting. I'm British actually, and I came to Washington about three months ago. I'm looking for ways to meet people. Er,what kinds of events do you organize?
M:Well, we have social get-togethers, and sports events, and we also have language evenings.
W:Could you tell me something about the language evenings?
M:Yes. Every day except Thursday we have a language evening. People can come and practice their languages-you know, over a drink or something. We have different languages on different evenings. Monday—Spanish; Tuesday—Italian; Wednesday—German; and Friday—French. On Thursday we usually have a meal in a restaurant for anyone who wants to come.
W:Well, that sounds great. I really need to practice my French.
M:OK. Well, if you can just give me your name and address, I'll send you the form and some more information. If you join now, you can have the first month free.

M:Hi, Rose. You've been looking for houses for months. Can't you find one?
W: Well, I should be careful about choosing one. It's a big step to buy a house. I'd rather take time now than be sorry later.

W:I've been there, very beautiful houses, but I prefer old but big houses. We need lots of rooms, you know. And I think I can get a better buy on an old house.
M: However, a cheap house means less modern conveniences. Why not get a new one?
W:Well, Jeff can rebuild the old one. You know, he's so skillful. Some of the new houses now have very small rooms. I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life in them.
M:Aren't you tired of keeping so many rooms clean every day?
W:Not at all. Cleaning is a pleasure for me. Oh, here comes my bus. Bye!

W: You see, I'm getting much fatter than before. I'm always worried. I've no idea how to lose weight.
M:You should do some exercise every day. That is the best way to keep you healthy and strong.
W:You know, I don't want to move about at all.
M:You'd better not watch too much TV. Recently, dancing machines have been popular in our country. I suggest buying one.
W:What is the dancing machine?
M:Oh, you may see one in shopping centers. It's easy to learn how to use it. What you ought to do is dance on such machines with loud disco music, stepping forward and backward, left and right according to the directions on TV,as if you are really dancing.
W:That sounds interesting! But is it useful to help me keep fit?
M:Sure. When you finish dancing, you'll be out of breath.
W:Where can I find one?
M:You may go to the Friendship Store.
W:Is it expensive?
M:I don't think so. It only costs $ 900.
W:All right. I'd like to buy one.

How I Got Through My Hard Time
As a famous saying goes, "Life is not a bed of roses.” We will inevitably get caught in hardship in our life. And I am no exception.
As far as I remembered, there was a time when I had a hard time in learning physics, which depressed me for quite a while. Instead of giving it up, I refreshed myself and struggled to find a way out. To start with, I adjusted myself to living with the problem, and then more time and energy were devoted to repeatedly thinking and doing exercises. In addition, I tried to seek help from my teacher and classmates. Last but not least, I poured out my problem to my parents, from whom I got emotional support.
Eventually, all my efforts paid off and I made great progress in my physics. Face adversity positively, and we will be rewarded.

参考范文:
Later that night , after driving Jean home , I hurried to Mrs Doe's. I took a deep breath and knocked at the door. When the door was open and came out Mrs Doe, I said nervously that I was sorry to disturb her, but I wanted to discuss with her something about my daughter. Without waiting for my finishing my words, Mrs Doe invited me in. I sat down and explained everything to her. She promised to praise Jean the next day, then we said goodbye.
At4:30 the next afternoon, Jean rushed to me happily at the school gate. When she hugged me, I pretended to be confused, asking why she was so cheerful. “Guess what?Mum," Jean made a face. I shook my head, then she said that she saw her picture on the Reading Bulletin Board for her kindness and sharing good things with others. I patted Jean on the shoulder, saying that sharing is good and it is worth taking even a small action to show kindness.
