英文海报(Poster)是用来告知广大群众喜闻乐见的消息，是英语应用文中的一种重要体裁，性质类似广告。有的还配以绘画以增加吸引力。主要贴在人流密集的地方，告知大众电影讯息、球讯、商品拍卖、文娱活动、游园、晚会、讲座以及招聘信息等。要求内容简明扼要，形式丰富。英文海报一般由标题、正文、出海报的单位以及时间构成。
海 报
要写好一份海报，有必要了解海报的特点。
1．文体特点：“短小精悍”是海报突出的文体特点。因此，写海报要做到主旨鲜明、言简意赅、用词准确。
2．语言特点：海报语言要生动、富有鼓动性。
3．标题写作：标题一般写在上方正中。标题可以反映海报的核心内容，如：football match(足球比赛)，lecture(讲座)，film news(影讯)等，也可直接写POSTER。
4．写作内容：海报的正文内容要写明具体内容、活动时间、地点，以及某些规定、要求、组织者等。内容的表现形式比较自由，根据实际情况和表达效果的需要可考虑用什么字体、字形，用什么样的形式，是否配图画等，可按行排列也可逐项说明。
5．时态：一般用现在时和将来时。
【基本特点】
1．标题
首先根据海报的特点、格式写明标题。海报中往往把内容作为大标题。例如：Save the earth, Save the birds。
2．正文部分
不同的海报其正文部分的侧重点不同。对于介绍性的海报，首先要引出话题，其次列出原因，最后是总结。对于宣传类的海报，要写明具体内容，如：活动内容，地点以及参加活动的注意事项，主持或举办单位等。
3．图片：要选择引人注目的图片，与主题要相关，色彩要明亮。
4．落款：落款要写明单位和日期。

As we all know, many species of plants and animals in the ocean are decreasing sharply owing to the damage caused by human beings. For example, many factories poured their waste and dirty water into the ocean, which polluted the oceans terribly. What’s worse, many people, though having no permit, hunt the animals in the oceans at will, making them in danger of dying out.

Not only is the giant panda a rare animal in China but also one of the rarest animals on the earth. As most of the bamboo has been cut down, more and more habitats are being destroyed and it is becoming more and more difficult for giant pandas to find food for themselves.
