学情分析 After years of English learning, the students who have just entered the ninth grade have been familiar with a variety of English learning strategies, and have a certain amount of English language knowledge and basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
教学目标 Language Competence Students are asked to grasp the related words, expressions and the structure “by+v-ing”: textbook, conversation, aloud, pronunciation, sentence, patient; make word cards, read the textbook, listen to tapes, ask the teacher for help, study for a test, work with a group, have conversations with, read aloud, practice pronunciation, spoken English Sentence patterns: ①How do you study for a test ②I study by.... Through the listened and the spoken dialogues, the students are asked to know how to talk about “how to learn” and know the importance of good study methods and can use the effective methods to guide the following study. After the group work, the students are trained to feel the sense of cooperation and get the sense of satisfaction from it.
Cultural Consciousness Help students self-check to find their own learning methods, so as to achieve efficient learning.
Thinking Quality Through listening and speaking activities, students are able to obtain key information and express how to learn English efficiently. Also, learn to explore, communicate and share with people and improve the logic of thinking, critical and innovative.
Learning Ability By talking about how to learn English, students can arouse interest in English learning and classify learning needs and goals: actively communicate with others and reflect on progress and shortcomings in English learning, and try to find out the reasons and solve them.
重难点
重点 Words, expressions and the structure by”by+v-ing”. Listen and understand the conversation connected with the topics and use them in the life basically. Know the importance of grasping good learning methods.
难点 Put the learned words, expressions and by+v-ing into the topic of“how to learn” and use freely. Use the learned ways and strategies to guide the future’s study.

Step 1. Lead-in. Have a free talk with T. Have a brainstorming about the question. T: You are in Grade 9 this year. You have been a student for many years. So what is important for learning Ss: Learning attitude, learning ability, learning habits, learning methods. T: In my opinion, learning attitude is like the fish bone. With learning ability and good habits, we can get a fish. How about learning methods T: Today, let’s talk about learning methods of being a good English learner. How can we become good English learners Step 2. Pre-listeningⅠ. T: How do you learn English Present some pictures of English learning methods and teach Ss to read them. 2. Then let Ss have a chain work to share their learning methods. 3. Ask Ss to finish 1a. Check the ways they study English. Then add other ways they sometimes study. Step 3. While-listeningⅠ. Let Ss look at the picture in 1a and the instruction in 1b. T: How many people do you think there are in the conversation T: What are their names T: These students are studying for a test. How Play the recording twice and call Ss to report his or her answers. Step 4. Post-listeningⅠ. Ask Ss to work in pairs and practice the conversations. Then invite some pairs to show themselves. Step 5. ListeningⅡ. Observe the picture. T: Look at the picture in 2a. What is the teacher doing in the class Ss: He’s asking questions. T: Read the questions in 2a. What are they about Sa: The ways to learn English. Play the recording twice to let Ss check the questions they hear. For the third and fourth time, let Ss match the answers with the questions they’ve checked. Step 6. Role-play. T: Everyone has different ways to learn English. What if we have problems in learning English 1. Listen the conversation, and try to answer questions. 1)Who is Jack talking to
