Andy Kong has worked very hard to get to where he is today. He credits becoming a millionaire by 20 to his strict Asian parents who tutored him
at a young age by working for the family.
Kong, of Danville, Virginia, started working when he was only nine. English wasn’t a strong suit for Andy’s parents, and that’s where he
was able to assist his family the most. After school and on weekends he would help out at their family-owned restaurant and nail salons. Not only

Andy started his Amazon business in the eighth grade, when he learned about Amazon. Dropshipping (代发货模式) from a kid he saw on Instagram,

It is a well-known fact that plastic bottles, which take hundreds of years to rot, are harmful to our environment. However, efforts by
environmentalists to encourage consumers to switch to alternatives, like
water fountains or reusable bottles, have not been very effective. The U.S. alone uses over 50 million plastic bottles annually, 80% of which
end up in landfills.
To try to stop that, Rodrigo García González, Pierre Paslier and
Guillaume Couche from the Imperial College London have been working on a revolutionary solution — water wrapped inside an eatable container
made mostly from seaweed. All the customer has to do to relieve his/her thirst is pop the entire drop into the mouth.
The inventors, who have been working on the Ooho bubble since 2014, use a simple two-step cooking process called spherification (球化) to
create the delicatecontainer. They begin by dipping a frozen ball of water or juice into a chemical solution (溶液). This helps form a layer around

the liquid. The ball is then absorbed in a solution made from seaweed extract. This creates a second layer, helping strengthen the structure
so that the water or juice does not leak. In addition to saving our
environment, the biodegradable (可降解的) packaging costs just two cents each, making it cheaper to produce than plastic.
After three years of perfecting the design, the inventors, who
recently raised over 1 million USD from a financial activity, are ready
to bring the Ooho bubble to local market. However, there are a few
challenges that still need to be overcome before the product’s launch. In addition to getting accustomed to the taste of the covering, each
eatable container contains just a mouthful of water, requiring consumers
to drink multiple bubbles to relieve their thirst. There is also the issue
of finding an eco-friendly packaging to transport the bubbles so that they remain clean and do not burst. Hopefully, the inventors will find ways
to handle the issues so that we can reduce, or perhaps even remove, plastic bottles.

Dean, 76, once taught music at Chicago’s Senn High School, invented and sold his own music education system and sang with the Chicago Symphony
Chorus. Now, like many patients with Alzheimer’s, he is, to some extent, lost in the past, a stranger to the present. But when the music plays,
he smiles and is transported to a place of beauty, where everything still makes sense.
In recent years, music therapy(疗法) has grown in popularity for its
seeming ability to help calm people with dementia(痴呆) and reconnect them with their memories. Now researchers are testing whether music played for
residents of a suburban nursing home can be therapeutic, whether it can improve cognition (认知), conversation and relationships.
A person with dementia can recede(倒退) so far that he or she is no longer responsive, suggesting personality and consciousness (意识) have
been lost. But in his book, Dr. Oliver Sacks wrote that he’d seen such patients shake or cry while listening to music. “Once one has seen such
responses,” he wrote, “one knows that there is still a self to be called upon, even if music, and only music, can do the calling.”
For some people with dementia, music therapy has been shown to improve attention and cognition to improve behavior while reducing the use of
drugs and to reduce anxiety and depression. Singing songs can help refresh specific memories that otherwise might have been forgotten completely,
experts say.
Attracted by the potential benefits, Dr. Borna Bonakdarpour, a

neurologist, put together a music therapy study. Each week for 12 weeks, the musicians who were specially trained, held concerts for 10 residents
and applied their skills to therapy, often by interacting with patients
during performances and getting them to beat on drums, sing and dance.
A similar group of residents in another nursing home went without the therapy to compare results.
“Music therapy is gaining more confidence now as an intervention,
so this is a very exciting time,” Bonakdarpour said. “We thought when
people get Alzheimer’s, they’re done because there’s no medicine to cure it. But there’s so much we can do to have an impact and improve their quality of life.”
