板块一--例文
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Two months ago, my friend Lisa, Harry and I, planned to do something adventurous, so we decided to explore a deep cave in the outskirt of our city with some food, water, torches and most importantly our cell phones. But things were not going well. We could not find any vehicle to drop us there. At long last, we managed to find a taxi which took us to the outskirt of the city. Another evidence of bad luck was that Harry had left his cell phone at home.
After we got out of the taxi, some of the locals told us the way to the cave. The cave looked very attractive yet still mysterious: the cave was so dark, and the tiny sounds made by the insects and animals could be heard properly, pulling us into the cave with some unknown supernatural power. As we were moving forward we made marks on the rocks along our path to remind us of the exit of the cave. And we always kept our mobiles in switch on mode to contact each other in case we got separated and even worse, lost in the cave.
As we were moving forward, Harry felt that somebody was following our footsteps but he left his intuition to a joke. When we reached in the deep of the cave, we lost our way and gradually the fog spread everywhere and we were not able to see each other properly. All of us got very scared of what was happening around us. Suddenly, we noticed that Harry was not with us and then we vaguely heard a shout from the depth of the cave and we thought it was Harry, so we started searching for him. But our torches were left no use in such thick fog.

Paragraph 2:
After we reunited with Harry, we tried to find the way out.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】So we groped our way towards the direction of the shout. Frightened as we were, we still made up our mind to search for Harry. Hardly can we see anything in the completely dark situation, so we had to feel our way to search Harry with all strength. Slowly and cautiously moving forward, we held our hands tightly in order not to be separated. With the voice approaching, we realized we would meet Harry immediately. Fortunately, when finding Harry sitting on the ground, we sighed with a relief.
After we reunited with Harry, we tried to find the way out. Without hesitation, we decided to hunt for these marks which we had made before. “I get it!” Harry screamed. Looking up quickly, we found these clear marks easily. It was with the help of these marks that we quickly found the exit. When walking out of the cave, we knew we were saved. From this experience, what we learnt was that it was dangerous to explore the unknown word without a fully detailed plan.

板块三--能力提升(现学现用)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Lon was chasing his runaway horse when a goose went under his feet. And he fell into a thornbush (荆棘丛). “Why do I have such bad luck ”
Things never seemed to go Lon’s way. If there was a bee about, he was stung.
And if his horse ran away, it would run straight through a thornbush. Still, even bad luck might turn good if he could catch that goose for dinner.
He scanned the bushes, and found a nest with an egg. Just an egg, but even one egg might make a small meal.
He picked it up, but dropped it in surprise. The egg was unusually heavy, and it gleamed (发光) in the sunlight. It was made of gold!
Lon sighed. He’d nearly stepped on a goose that lays golden eggs. If he had captured the goose, he would have had golden egg after golden egg.
Then a thought exploded in his mind.
Perhaps he could take the egg and get it to hatch, and the new goose would lay golden eggs just as its mother did.
Lon smiled. His luck seemed to be changing.
Once home, Lon placed the egg into a bed of cotton next to the hearth. He turned it every hour for several days.
One morning, he heard a faint chk-chk-chk. A small golden beak poked its way through the shell.
It was an ugly little thing, but Lon didn’t care. All that mattered was the golden eggs it would soon lay.
The gosling demanded food. Lon happily kept its beak filled. He named the bird Goly and became fond of it, even though it was soon better fed than he was. Lon talked to his goose and taught it to play checkers (国际跳棋).
Time passed as Lon waited for the first golden egg. Goldy had grown quite fat, but there were no eggs. Lon finally took the goose to a farmer to see what the problem was.
The farmer took a closer look and laughed. “You’ll never get eggs from this goose. It’s a boy goose!
I might as well roast you for dinner,” Lon said. “At least then I’ll get a meal for all my work!”

Alarmed,Goldy popped out of Lon’s arm and escaped into the forest.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
One morning, Lon awoke to Goldy’s familiar honking outside.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】Alarmed, Goldy popped out of Lon’s arm and escaped into the forest. Alone in the house, Lon paced restlessly, wondering whether he was destined for bad luck. There was a deathly stillness in the house. Without Goldy accompanying him and begging him for food, a strong sense of loss overwhelmed him. It was no fun playing checkers alone, even if he did win every game. Picturing the merry scene of playing checkers with Goldy, he felt the regret burning his heart. If only he hadn’t scared Goldy away!
One morning, Lon awoke to Goldy’s familiar honking outside. At the sight of Goldy, Lon was seized with a mixture of joy and relief. Seeing Goldy pecking and quacking around the lawn, Lon knew immediately Goldy was starving. As usual, Lon took some oatmeal out to serve his good old friend. Lon happily settled down and enjoyed a game of checkers with Goldy. To Lon, having a companion was the luckiest thing in life now.
