Teaching procedure:
Step I Warm up (Create a good atmosphere three minutes)
Students read new words from baseball to David together.
StepⅡLeading in（Heuristic inquiry three minutes）
Ask and answer. Teacher and students ask and answer --What’s this --It’s a(n)_____. –What are these –They’re_______. by using teacher’ things or students’ things.
Teacher(holding some things): My son often lost these things. Most of us sometimes lost things. Please write five things we lost easily in the school.
StepⅢ Pre-reading（Cooperation inquiry five minutes）
Students write down their answers on Page 17 2a in the book, then check each other. Pay attention to whether they write right words.
Teacher: how can we find the lost things in the school Let students discuss in pairs. Answers are variety. One of possible answer may be: write a lost notice. Very good! In English-speaking countries, students will put up Lost or Found notice on the board if they lose or find something in the school. Let’s have a look at 2b. Some notices are be given.
Step IV While-reading (the skill of skimming and scanning, independent and cooperation inquiry seventeen minutes )
Skimming:
Teacher: How many notices are there in the picture (Four.) Students read four notices quickly in silence by themselves and finish the following tasks.
Task1: Read the notices on the board and circle the lost things.
Students answer, teacher write down on the blackboard: computer game, watch, keys, school ID card.
Task2: Match the things with the person.
Students match, teacher check the answer.
Task3: Put the following sentences into the right order.
Students read with the tape together, then give the right order: Notice1: 2,3,1.Notice2: 3,2,4,1. Let students read together in right order.
Scanning:
Students read four notices in silence by themselves, then finish the following tasks.
Task4: Read and answer the questions.
1.Is a computer game in the classroom
2.Are some keys in the school library
3.What’s John’s telephone number
What’s Tom’s telephone number
4.Who lost the school ID card
5.Who found a watch
Answers: 1.No, it isn’t. 2.No, they aren’t. 3. It’s 495-3539. It’s 685-6034. 4. Tom. 5. John..
Task5: Write “Lost” or “Found” in the four notices.
How can we tell whether it is Lost or Found Find out key phrases or key sentences by reading again in silence. Share with classmates. As students say, teacher will write them on the blackboard. Students can say in Chinese.
Is it yours Ask the teacher for it. Are they yours E-mail me at… call me. Call me at… I must find it.
Teacher will explain key parts for students.
At last, write answers: Notice 1-3 Found, Notice 4 Lost.
Task6: Read the notices again and write down the items. Then check( √ ) Lost or Found.
Finish it together.
Step V Post reading （Application research ten minutes）
Pairwork:
Now we know how to tell whether it is Lost or Found, but how to write Lost or Found Let’s think and sum.
Students have a try. Something should be paid attention to. One or two students read it for class.

Written work: According to the pictures, students complete Lost and Found.
Let one or two students write down on the blackboard. The others write down on their exercise book. Check answers with class. Strengthen key parts. Students read them together.
Step VI Summary（Led a deep inquiry three minutes）
Students are supposed to summarize how to write Lost and Found. Make a conclusion about them. Teacher will play as a guide.

1.listen to the 2b’s tape, then recite them.
2.Write your own Lost or Found.
