教学设计
【教学目标)】
1、掌握词汇: introduction, leader , produce.
2、接触词汇: peanut, hybrid, variety, production, super.
3、短语和句型: Father of Hybrid Rice, since then, together with.
4、培养学生读懂有关名人的文章,明白文章主旨大意和理解文章结构的技能。
5、能用 before, after, as引导的时间状语从句和that引导的定语从句进行表达。
6、培养学生为了梦想而勇于执着追求、刻苦钻研、乐于拼搏的精神。
【教学重难点】
重点:掌握本课的词汇和短语。
难点:熟练运用状语从句和定语从句。

【教学过程】
ー、创设情境,切入主题
Step 1: Leading in
1、根据图片,复习并呈现上节课所学的内容。(图片2)
2、多媒体展示“水稻之父”袁隆平的图片。(图片3)
T: Boys and girls, look at the picture. Who is he can you tell me
Ss: Yes. He is Yuan Longping.
T: Yes, very good. What is he famous for
Ss: A new kind of rice.
T: Why is the rice special
Ss: ......

(设计意图:根据图片导入本课话题,师生互动,激发学生的学习兴趣,创设轻松的学习氛围,从而使这堂课在最大程度上达到最高效能。)
二、展开过程,探究新知
Step 2: Pre - reading
在屏幕上,呈现图片上本课的单词,让学生进行听、说、读、写的训练,熟记单词。(图片4)依据图片上的问题,让学生根据实际情况,试着回答问题。老师可以适当给予帮助。(图片5)
(设计意图:培养锻炼学生的自我表达能力,帮助学生养成用英语叙述事情的习惯。)
Step 3: While - reading
Task 1: Let the students listen to the text’s MP3. Read and finish “Let’s do it”Exercise ① and Exercise ② on Page 23。(图片6、7、8)
(设计意图:培养学生快速阅读短文,提取文章大意的能力,此环节老师可以对学生进行阅读策略、阅读方法方面进行指导。)
Task 2: Read the article aloud after the recorder.
Let the students listen to the text’s MP3 and repeat it sentence by sentence then read it aloud by themselves.
(设计意图:让学生跟着录音仿读,纠正学生的语音和语调及句子重音,然后朗读课文,培养其语感,在此环节可以表扬读得好的同学,以调动学生的积极性。)
Task 3: Work in group of 6 to deal with the key words, phrases and sentences.(呈现图片9、10、11、12)
(设计意图:培养学生合作、探究能力,激发其积极性。)
the key word, phrases and sentences
1、 The plant allowed farmers to rest in its shade.
这种农作物可以让农民在它的阴凉里体息。
al1ow sb.to do sth.允许某人干某事, allow的其他句式: allow doing sth.允许干某事, be allowed to do sth.被允许干某事。
2. In the 1960s. a few years after he finished his studies in agriculture at university, he came up with an idea for hybrid rice.
(1) in the1960s意思是“在20世纪60年代”。表示“多少世纪多少年代”,在年份后面加-s或’s, 如 in the1980s或 in the 1980’s(20世纪80年代)。注意:不要丢掉the。
(2) come up with意思是“产生;发现”。例如:
He couldn’t come up with an answer.他想不出答案来。
3.For this, he became known as the “ Father of Hybrid Rice”.
be known as意为“作为…...而闻名”; be known for意为“因为…而闻名”; be known to意为“对于……而闻名”。其中 known可以用 famous代替。
例如: He is known as a young poet.
He is known for both his poems and his paintings .
4. Because of Dr. Yuan's hard work, China now produces enough rice every year to feed its people .
(1)表示“因为,由于”时, because of接名词或相当于名词的结构; because接从句。例如:
They were unable to breathe because of the smoke .
The boy was absent because he was ill.
(2)feed表示“喂(养)”时,可用于动物或人。例如:
He is feeding the horse.
I had to help feed the baby when the mother was away .
The patient can't feed himself yet.
5. Now Dr. Yuan is working on developing super hybrid rice.
work on在本句中意思是“从事于;致力于”它还有“继续工作;对…...有影响,对……有作用”的意思。例如:
Are they working on a film
Although it was raining hard, the peasants worked on in the fields.
Will the medicine work on the patient
(给学生一段时间背通这些句子和知识点。)
(设计意图:学生应是学习的主体,教师要努力调动学生学习的积极性和主动性,通过组内合作讨论、探究,找出文章中的重点短语和句子,把所学的如识转化为学习能力。)
Step 4: Exercise (图片13呈现)
(给学生几分钟的时间,采取抢答的形式,让学生将答案写到黑板上。)
(设计意图:采取竞争的方式,可以让学生迅速记住所学内容,充分发挥他们的记忆能力,并能对本课所学的词汇进行有效地巩固,准确把握它们的使用场合,使课堂效果达到最好。)
