2. Be able to find out the sentences in the passage that express the characters' views on food and express their views and attitudes in English.

Be able to use appropriate words to express your views on your favorate food.
Teaching Procedures:
Step 1: Leading in
(1) Enjoy a short video of hot pot.
Questions:
1.What’s the video about
2.What kind of food is introduced in the video
(2) Show the food pictures of Chinese food and foreign food.
Step 2: presentation
Activity 1:
1: Divide the passage into four parts and match the main idea with each paragraph.
Part 1 (para 1) A. I feel at home with food from Britain and China.
Part 2 (para 2) B. My family background.
Part 3 (para 3-5) C. Influenced by my mother, my father loves hot pot, but he still shocked at Chinese food
Part 4 (para 6) D. Different attitude towards food of my family.
Activity 2:
Go through the passage quickly and answer the question.
(3’)What is the main idea of the passage
How the family stays healthy by eating Chinese food.
How the family cooks both Chinese and English food.
How the family combines food from two countries.
Activity 3: Read Part 1 carefully and fill in the blanks.(3’)

Activity 4: Read part 2 carefully and define the sentences true(T) or false(F).

3. Nowadays, my Dad takes to eating things like chicken feet
Activity 5: Read para.3-5 and answer the questions.
Step3 :After-reading
Ask students to discuss in groups. Introduce a kind of favorite food.
Blue Cheese is a type of cheese with blue lines in it, popular in Europe and well-known for its strong taste.It is identified by a special smell. I think it tastes best when served with pears and fruit bread. It is really yummy!
Step 4:Conclusion
Try to enjoy them in cross-cultural environment!
Step 5: Homework
Write a short passage about one kind of your favorite food .
