The Yangtze River
The Yangtze River, flowing 6,380 kilometers from the snowy heights of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
to the East China Sea, is the longest river in China and Asia, and the third longest in the world.
As our“Father River”, he is the source of civilization, witnessing the growth of Chinese people.
What’s worth mentioning is that not only does the Yangtze River provide people with sufficient water
resource, but also he, like a father, raises varieties of animals and plants in his arms.
Standing by the river, you will always be struck by its beautiful scenery, from the pure and clean
water to the birds hovering overhead. Hanging around the river, the fresh breeze will kiss your face,
giving it a feeling of moisture.
In brief, only when you approach him in person can you feel its greatness and mightiness.

One possible version
Soon，her phone rang and received a message. She found a kid’s parents showed sympathy and
agreed. Before long，her phone received such messages one after another，and all parents agreed. On
Sunday，Oliver’s classmates and even some parents came to school. They decorated the classroom
with balloons and streamers，with a big“Happy Birthday”written on the blackboard. And they
prepared a birthday cake. When Monday came，Oliver’s classmates and Sarah arrived early to give
him a surprise.
Oliver arrived at school and pushed the classroom’s door open. He was surprised by the
classroom’s decoration and classmates who all wore colorful birthday caps and smiled at him.
Suddenly，soft music played. Oliver burst into tears as he watched his classmates sing happy birthday
by gesture. Then，the kids and Sarah circled Oliver and gifted him a flower each. Oliver felt so happy.
After that morning，Oliver’s school life had a big change. Ada and Eric were quite grateful and glad
about it.
