( discussion ) Help students to say, The boy is late for class. Invite a student to read the four questions in the box to the class. Check the new words by asking Ss. to pronounce them quickly. Get Ss. to read the questions and check 1a in Section B. Then get them to work in pairs with the contents in 1b like this: A: Do you ever to class late B: Yes, I sometimes get to class late. Ss. do pair work. Finish 1a. and 1b. ( finish 1a and 1b ) Step2 This activity provides practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversation. Point out the four items in Activity 1a. Say, You will listen to a conversation and circle the things on the list that you hear. 1. Ss. read the questions in 1a. 2.Play the recording for the first time. Students only listen. 3.Get Ss. to listen to the tape and circle the things in 1a that they hear. Finish 2a. ( check ) Step2 This activity provides listening practice using the target language. For explain: Point out the sample answer. Read the sentence "Peter is going to fail a math test to the class." 1.Listen again and match these sentences parts in 2b. ( check ) Ss. listen to the tape and read after them. Then translate them into Chinese. 3. Talk about the chart in pairs.
