(1) This passage talks about a different type of comfort food—food high in calories.
Food high in calories increases the blood sugar level quickly, which causes the body to produce a special chemical to remove it. When the chemical lowers the blood sugar level, the eater is likely to feel sad again and eat more of the food. This creates a never-ending cycle of unhealthy eating. The hidden danger of this type of comfort food is that even though it helps relieve our tension and makes us feel good, it also harms our body.
