Summer, winter and fall may have their fans, but spring is clearly the most lovable of the four seasons. Here are some scientific reasons why spring is great.
1 In many places, the temperature in this season is about 15 to 21°C. People tend to be most comfortable at temperatures around 22 °C so the arrival of spring means people can finally get off their heavy winter clothes and still be comfortable.
Following the spring equinox(春分), days begin lasting longer and nights get shorter. 2 Research has shown that those extra hours of sun can be an important mood-booster(心情助推器).
The longer the sun is up during the day, the less blue people feel.
In addition, many animals move south during the winter. 3 For northern areas, there’s no better sign of spring than birdsong outside the window. Birds can start lying north as early as mid-February and it lasts into June. It means that throughout the spring, people can expect to see lots of birds. 4 A UK study has found that the more birds people see in their neighborhoods, the better their mental health.
Warmer temperatures mean people can spend more time outdoors without freezing their feet, which is great for mental health. Across the seasons, research has found that taking walks in nature slows people’s heart rate(心率) and makes them more relaxed. Spending 30 minutes or more outside in warm, sunny spring weather will put people in a cheerful mood. 5
That’s why spring is lovable.
A. People can also have better memories. B. Spring marks the end of a cold winter. C. Then they move back north as temperatures rise. D. Spring brings green growth back to all the plants. E. And seeing more birds can make people happier F. That means people have more light hours to get things done.

Have you ever wondered where the rain comes from, or how the clouds are formed Well, this is what the water cycle(循环) is all about.
When the sun heats up the rivers and oceans, water becomes water vapour(蒸汽) and it rises up in the air. This process is called evaporation. It is the first step of the water cycle. You can also see water vapour at home! Just tell your mommy to heat some water. And as the water gets heated, you’ll be able to see the water vapour rising up in the air.
When the water vapour reaches up in the sky, it turns into tiny droplets(小滴) of water. These water droplets, along with various gases and dust particles(尘粒), come together to form clouds. This is known as condensation. Now, hold a cold lid over the vessel(容器) in which you heated water. When you open the lid after some time, you’ll be able to see water droplets on the lid. That’s exactly what condensation is!
When the cloud becomes too heavy and it cannot hold any more water inside, it bursts open to give out rain, hail or snow. This is known as precipitation.
As it rains, water gets collected in oceans, lakes and rivers. It even seeps(渗透) through the soil and becomes ground water. Thus the water cycle is a continuous process of evaporation, condensation and precipitation.
