Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
Greet each other in English
Use the phrases “open your book,” “close your book,” “listen,” and “repeat”

Materials:
Whiteboard or blackboard
Markers or chalk
Student textbooks
Flashcards with classroom instructions
Pictures or illustrations of common classroom objects (optional)
Warm-up :
Greet the students at the beginning of the lesson by saying, “Good morning, students!”
Encourage students to respond by saying, “Good morning, teacher!”
Model the greetings and have the class repeat after you.
Repeat the process with different greetings such as “Good afternoon” or “Hello.”
Presentation:
Write the phrase “Open your book” on the board.
Show the students the phrase on flashcards or point to it on the board.
Say the phrase aloud and have the students repeat it several times.
Gesture or demonstrate the action of opening a book while saying the phrase.
Give each student a book and ask them to open it.
Repeat the process with the phrase “Close your book” and have the students close their books.
Practice:
Introduce a few more classroom instructions such as “Listen,” “Listen and repeat,” or “Stand up.”
Show the flashcards with the instructions and say them aloud while demonstrating the corresponding action.
Have the students repeat each instruction after you.
Give the students practice exercises using the instructions. For example, say “Listen” and play an audio clip for them to listen to, or say “Listen and repeat” and have them repeat a sentence after you.
Production :
Divide the class into pairs or small groups.
Ask students to take turns giving instructions to their partners using the phrases and instructions they have learned.
Encourage students to use gestures or demonstrations to accompany their instructions.
Circulate around the classroom, monitoring and providing assistance as needed.
After a few minutes, ask some pairs or groups to demonstrate their instruction exchanges to the whole class.
Wrap-up:
Recap the lesson by asking students to recall the phrases and instructions they learned.
Have a class discussion about the importance of understanding and following classroom instructions.
Give positive feedback to the students for their participation and efforts in the lesson.
Assessment:
To assess students’ understanding of the lesson objectives, create a short quiz or a series of questions.
Write down several classroom instructions on the board and ask students to match them with their corresponding actions.
Alternatively, you can call out different instructions and have students demonstrate the corresponding action.
Additionally, you can ask individual students to give instructions to the rest of the class and observe their ability to use the phrases and instructions accurately.
Extension :
For students who grasp the material quickly, provide an opportunity for further practice and extension.
Introduce additional instructions that may be relevant to your classroom routine, such as “Take out your notebooks,” “Write your name,” or “Raise your hand.”
Encourage students to create a dialogue using the instructions learned in the lesson. They can practice and perform the dialogue in pairs or small groups.
Closure :
Summarize the key points of the lesson, highlighting the phrases and instructions covered.
Commend the students on their progress and participation during the lesson.
Encourage the students to continue practicing the phrases and instructions in their daily classroom routines.
End the lesson on a positive note, expressing enthusiasm for the next English lesson.
