I feel so honored/privileged to deliver a speech about food waste(表达荣幸). My topic today is Food for Life(演讲主题). The past years have witnessed the global food crisis, many people suffering from starvation(演讲原因1).However, some of us don't take the issue seriously. Food waste is still a common sight, especially in the canteen(演讲原因2).
Facing the reality, I think it's high time that we did something(总起). Not only are we expected to raise the awareness of saving food (倡议1), but also go into action immediately(倡议2). Do remember that every bit of effort counts in saving food for a better life(倡议书常用结尾).

It’s a great honor for me to deliver a speech here about food waste. My topic today is Food for Life. Actually it’s a universal phenomenon, especially in the canteen. Leftovers can be seen piled on the dining tables, some even left untouched at all. Meanwhile many people worldwide are still suffering from hunger, waiting to be fed.
To fight the battle, not only should we raise people’s awareness of saving food, we should also never order/take more food than we need. Together, every effort, big or small, can make a big difference.
