Introduce new vocabulary related to ages, such as “ten,” “eleven,” “twelve,” and “thirteen.”
Presentation
Write the sentence pattern “I’m years old” on the board.

Encourage students to ask follow-up questions about each other’s ages.
Guided Practice

Ask students to listen and identify the sentence patterns and vocabulary used in the conversations.
Conduct a class discussion on the appropriate responses.
Divide the students into pairs and have them practice the conversations.
Rotate pairs and encourage students to use different names and ages.
Application
Hand out a worksheet with a set of questions about names and ages.
Instruct the students to write their responses using the sentence pattern “I’m years old.”
Monitor and provide assistance as needed.
Review the worksheet answers as a class and discuss any common errors or misconceptions.
Wrap-up
Review the key sentence patterns, vocabulary, and expressions covered in the lesson.
Encourage the students to practice introducing themselves and discussing their ages with their friends and family.
Conclude the lesson by thanking the students for their participation.
Extension Activities (optional):
Divide the students into small groups and assign each group a different age range (e.g., 5-10 years old, 11-15 years old, etc.). Ask them to create a short dialogue where they introduce themselves and mention their ages. Allow each group to perform their dialogue for the class.
Create a class survey where students ask their classmates about their ages. Provide them with a questionnaire or worksheet to fill out with the information gathered. Then, have students present their findings to the class, using the sentence pattern “He/She is and he/she is years old.”
Play a vocabulary game using flashcards or word cards. Show a card with an age number written on it and have students race to say the corresponding number word in English.
Assign a writing task where students write a short paragraph introducing their family members and their ages. Encourage them to use the sentence pattern “He/She is and he/she is years old” for each family member.
Play a memory game where students take turns saying a sentence introducing themselves and mentioning their age. The next student repeats the previous introduction and adds their own. Continue until someone forgets a previous introduction.
Assessment:
Observe students’ participation and fluency during the pair work activities, guided practice, and application tasks.
Evaluate students’ written responses on the worksheet for accuracy in using the sentence pattern and vocabulary.
Analyze students’ comprehension through their responses to questions and follow-up discussions during the lesson.
Homework:
Assign students the task of interviewing a family member or friend about their age and writing a short paragraph about that person using the sentence pattern “He/She is and he/she is years old.”
