形容词和副词的最高级
1. 形容词和副词的最高级形式的构成(三个或三个以上的事物进行比较)
(1)规则变化
情况 规则 例词
单音节词和少数双音节词 一般 加－est small→smallest cheap→cheapest
以不发音的字母e结尾的词 加－st late→latest nice→nicest
以辅音字母加-y结尾的词 变y为i，再加－est easy→easiest happy→happiest
以一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节词 要双写最后一个辅音字母再加－est big→biggest fat→fattest
大部分双音节词和多音节词 前面直接加most important→most important beautiful→most beautiful interesting→most interesting

2. 形容词和副词最高级的基本用法
(1)the＋形容词最高级＋名词单数(有时可省略)＋in/of/among sb./sth. 如：
Lily is the oldest woman in the factory. 莉莉是厂里年纪最大的女人。
(2)疑问词＋be动词/行为动词＋形容词/副词最高级，A，B or C？如：
Which is the biggest, the sun, the moon or the earth？太阳、月亮和地球哪一个最大？
(3)“the＋序数词＋形容词最高级”，表示“第几最……”。如：
The Yellow River is the second longest river in China. 黄河是中国第二长河。
(4)“one of the＋形容词最高级＋可数名词复数＋…”，表示“最……之一”。如：
He is one of the tallest players in China. 他是中国最高的运动员之一。

Hong Kong－Zhuhai－Macao Bridge(HZMB) was described(描述) as one of the “seven wonders of the modern world”. The 55-kilometre Y-shaped bridge in the Lingdingyang waters(水域) is the world's longest sea-spanning bridge. It connects Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao. It is the result of five years of research and another nine years of building. The main bridge uses about 420，000 tons of steel. The total cost of the HZMB is about 120 billion yuan.
The bridge can be used for 120 years. The speed limit(限速) is 100 km/h on the main bridge. The travel time from Hong Kong to Zhuhai was about 4 hours by road or about 1 hour by sea in the past. But now it only takes you about 40 minutes. The one-way shuttle bus trip costs 58 yuan and the shuttle bus provides 24-hour service. Besides, there is a bus every 5 minutes during the rush hour. Passengers can also travel in private(私人的) cars or taxis. The one-way cost for private cars is 150 yuan.
The bridge is not only a transport connection, but also a social, economic(经济的), cultural, and tourism connection among the three areas.
