一、阅读理解题(共10题)
Almost every day, we discuss the topic of health, especially for kids. But what is health Health means eating well, getting enough exercise, and having a healthy weight. Let's read the following rules. They can help you stay healthy.
★Eat a variety of food, especially fruit and vegetables. We all know that eating fruit and vegetables can help us stay healthy, but many of us only eat our favourite food. Remember that we can only get the nutrition we need by eating different kinds of food, especially fruit and vegetables.
★Drink water and milk most often. Everyone knows that water is important. Besides that, kids need plenty of calcium (钙) to grow strong bones, and milk has a lot of it. Every day, you should drink at least three cups of milk when you are 9 years old or older. You should also try to have less sugary drinks, like soda and cola. They include a lot of added sugar. Sugar just adds calories, not important nutrition.
★Listen to your body. When you are eating, notice how your body feels. When your stomach feels comfortably full, stop eating. Eating too much makes you feel uncomfortable. If you do it too often, it can make you unhealthy and fat.
★Limit screen time. What's screen time It's the amount of time you spend watching TV, movies, and playing computer games. The more time you spend on these sitting-down activities, the less time you spend playing sports, like basketball, and doing other activities like bike riding and swimming. But learning what you can and can't change about your body is part of growing up, too. It can be hard to do. But when people accept the way they look, they often feel happier.
Some children worry that they're not growing and developing as fast as their friends. It's important to know that puberty (青春期) doesn't happen at the same time for every child. And there are no special medicines that can make it happen sooner!
Eating healthy foods and exercising more can make all children feel better. Why Because they will help you feel energetic (精力充沛的) and keep your body working just the way it should be.
Watching TV and playing computer games can be fun, but they don't do much for your body because you sit when you do them.
But when you move your body—by playing, dancing, taking part in sports, or even cleaning your room—you exercise your muscles (肌肉). When you exercise the muscle, it gets stronger. And when you have strong muscles, you can do whatever you want to do!

Most students like junk food (垃圾食品) because it is tasty. Whether it should be allowed in schools or not is still a question. Just as every coin has two sides, junk food in schools has its advantages and disadvantages.
Most junk food is quite cheap, tasty and easy to get. If a child forgets to carry a lunch bag, he or she will go hungry for most of the day. Here, junk food helps him or her to have something to eat. Moreover, it is possible for students to save a lot of time.
Sometimes having junk food instead of a part of one's main diet is considered to be OK. It doesn't have a big influence on a person's health if someone only eats from time to time.
Compared with some junk food with high oil and salt, food like potato chips or juices can be made in school dining halls. So students don't have to choose unhealthy food from outside.
However, too much oil, salt and sugar in junk food are harmful to human bodies. Some of them cannot be broken down in the body. If someone eats too much junk food, it can lead to obesity (肥胖) and other health problems like heart trouble, high blood pressure and so on.
Usually, children have snacks between classes. There is a sudden increase of sugar, so they get a lot of energy and become too active. But when classes begin, the effects (作用) of the snacks begin to reduce, they become slow. This causes low energy levels and lack of concentration (注意力). It has a bad influence on a student's performance during classes.
In all, it is important that parents and schools should provide their kids with healthy and balanced food and make them know the disadvantages of junk food. Then they will make healthier choices for themselves.
Topic Junk food in _____
_____ Junk food is popular among students, but like everything else, it has both advantages and disadvantages.

It helps to stop student's hunger.
It is _____ for students to save time by eating junk food.

Disadvantages Too much oil, salt and sugar in junk food are _____ to human bodies.
If someone eats too much junk food, it can _____ heart trouble and other health problems.
Eating junk food can have a _____ influence on a student's performance during classes.
Conclusion Parents and schools should educate children and provide healthy food _____ them.

A report shows that Japan has the lowest rate of childhood obesity (肥胖) among the developed countries.Experts say there are different factors, including a health-conscious (注重健康的) society and regular check-ups for children. A nationwide school lunch program is believed to have played a key role.
The lunches are provided for all primary schools and most middle schools in Japan. A team of experts create the menus. They try to achieve a balance between carbohydrates (淀粉质食物), meat or fish, and vegetables. Each meal has around 600-700 calories. "School lunches provide nutrition that meals at home are usually short of," said an official. "It helps children to get the nutritional balance."
Japanese school lunches are usually served in the classroom. Students often give out food to each other and clean up the room after lunch. There is also a daily broadcast (广播节目) at school to explain the nutrition in the lunch of the day. This is a good way to educate kids about health.

In Britain at the moment, there is much debate about food young people eat. Actually children in the UK are getting more and more overweight. It is difficult to decide who to blame (责备). Is it the parents' fault or is it the child's
One of the main areas people are discussing is the healthiness, or rather unhealthiness of school lunches. The situation looks as if it is getting worse, so we all need to think about a solution to the problem.
I think the catering companies who often serve poor, cheap food should be blamed mainly. A recent survey of peoples' eating habits in the UK showed that 40% of children had eaten chips that day at school and 85% had eaten sweets, cakes or biscuits.
In my opinion, we should look at what other children are eating for school lunches in other countries, and then learn a lesson from them.
Let's take France as an example. This is a country where food is like the national region! Many schools employ their own nutritionist (营养师), who works with parents to make sure school lunches provide a healthy, balanced diet. A typical menu in a French secondary school is a starter of grapefruit, followed by grilled chicken with green vegetables and rice pudding for dessert. Pupils drink plain water rather than fizzy drinks. There is no choice and pizzas, burgers and chips are off the menu. Much more money is spent per meal than in Britain.
Norway is another interesting example. There, schools have no canteens at all. All Norwegian school children bring a packed lunch to school, which usually consists of sandwiches. Pupils can buy cheap milk, fruit or yoghurt at school. Lunch breaks are only 30 minutes long. While the children are eating, a teacher reads to them from a popular book. The children have to study 'nutrition' as part of the curriculum (课程). Norway is a country of healthy eaters and they start young.
Fortunately some people in the UK do care about what children are eating for lunch. In some schools, the food has got better. But we still have a long way to go. 'An apple a day' may well keep the doctor away, but what all kids need is a healthy, balanced diet.
(1) At the moment, British children are _____.

(3) A typical French lunch at school usually starts with _____.
A.grapefruit B.grilled chicken
C.green vegetables D.rice pudding
(4) Norwegian children can _____ when they are having lunch at school.
A.have a long break B.read a popular book
C.sell milk, fruit or yoghurt D.listen to the teachers reading
(5) Which of the following is Not True according to the passage
A.There are no canteens in Norwegian schools.
B.Britain doesn't spend as much as France on the school lunches.
C.Pupils in France have no choice but to have pizzas, burgers and chips for lunch.
D.Some people in the UK begin to pay attention to the unhealthiness of school lunches.
(6) This passage probably comes from a magazine in _____ Column (栏目).
A.Health B.Amusement C.Business D.Language

Sometimes, people are not clear about what kind of food is healthy and what kind of food may do harm to our health. The USDA has prepared a food guide to help people learn about which kind of food is the healthiest to eat. The food guide describes six main food groups: meat (like fish and chicken), dairy (like milk and cheese), grains (like bread and rice), fruit, and vegetables. The last group is fats and sweets. The USDA also suggests (建议) how much of each food group is healthy to eat daily. Though this guide was prepared by the US government, it is very useful for people all over the world.
As a result of years of study, we know that too much animal fat is bad for our health. For example, Americans eat a lot of meat and only a small amount (量) of grains, fruit and vegetables. Because of the way they eat, they have a high rate (率) of cancer (癌症) and heart disease. In Japan, people eat large amounts of grains and very little meat. The Japanese also have a very low rate of cancer and heart disease. The Japanese live longer than anyone else in the world. However, when Japanese people move to the US, the rate of heart disease and cancer goes up as their eating habit changes. And as hamburgers, ice creams and other high-fat foods become popular in Japan, the rate of heart disease and cancer is going up there as well. People are also eating more meat and dairy food in other countries, in which the disease rate is going up along with the change of the way people eat. Doctors everywhere suggest people eat more grains, fruit and vegetables and less meat and dairy food.
Eating healthily is important for children as well as their parents. When parents have poor eating habits, their children usually do, too. After all, children eat the same way as their parents. When parents eat healthy food, the children will learn to enjoy it, too. Then they will develop good eating habits. Doctors suggest parents give their children healthier food such as fruit, vegetables and juice.
Everyone wants to live a long, healthy life. We know that the food we eat affects (影响) us in different ways. For example, doctors believe that fruit and vegetables can really protect people from many different diseases. On the other hand, animal fat can cause (引起) diseases. We can change our eating habits now and enjoy many years of healthy living.
(1) What is the USDA in the passage
A.A group of doctors in the US.
B.An office of the US government.
C.A report on diseases in the US.
D.An order given by the US president.
(2) The second paragraph mainly tells us that _____.
A.Japanese are always healthier than Americans
B.living in the US is not good for people's health
C.if you eat too much fat you will have cancer
D.the way we eat may cause some health problems
(3) Which of the following is true according to the passage
A.More and more people have good eating habits now.
B.Parents' eating habits are important to their children.
C.Good eating habits develop only when you are young.
D.The more fruit and vegetables we eat, the longer we will live.
