课前反思： What’s your favorite … 已是六年级学生熟悉的句型，在前一单元学习了六个表示月份的单词和缩写规则，所以本课的词汇和句型练习难度并不大。
教学目标：
知识目标：
1、To listen, say and write the sentences “What’s your favorite month ” and use the sentences in real situations.
2、To write the words:July, August, September, October, November, December and their abbreviations.
能力目标：
1、Develop the abilities of listening, speaking, reading and
writing .
2、To make dialogues by using the sentence patterns.
情感目标：
Love our homeland and respect the foreign culture.
教学重点：
1. To read and use the phrases in the patterns “What’s your favorite month ” correctly.
2. To read the dialogue proficiently and try to write the same composition.
教学难点：
Learn to say “It’s an important holiday in your country.”

1、 复习检测（When is your birthday My birthday is in… ）
2、 新课传授
1.巧妙导入：(Show the PPT) T: Look! It’s a calendar. There are 12 months in a year. My favorite month is June. Because I can play with my students on Children’s Day. Children’s Day is in June.
2.引出主题：T: Today we’ll learn Unit 12. (Show today’s title--- What’s your favorite month )
3.解决难点：
(1). T: Look! There are many important festivals in a year.
(PPT: New Year’s Day, Children’s Day, Spring Festival, National Day )
The students look at the pictures and read the festival names after the teacher.
T: I also like Spring Festival best. Because the whole family can get together during the Spring Festival, I can eat dumplings and set off firecrackers. (放鞭炮) Do you think so
(2). Show the important festivals in every month(PPT).
The Party's Birthday is in July.
The Army Day is in August.
The Teachers' Day is in September.
The National Day is in October.
The Thanksgiving Day is in November.
The Christmas Day is in December.
The students look at the sentences, listen to the teacher and understand the important festivals in each month.
(3).The teacher shows the word cards: July, August, September, October, November, December and their abbreviations.
The students read the words in different ways.
(4). Do some oral practice about the pattern “what’s your favorite month ”
4.听音感知： T: Annie and Liu Gang are chatting on their way home. But what are they talking about Now let’s listen to the tape .
Ask students to repeat sentences they’ve heard,
5.默读初始：Read silently and write the answers on the activity book.
Q1: What does Liu Gang’s favorite month
Q2: What does Annie’s favorite month
6.朗读探知：Read loudly and answer the questions“why does Annie like December ”
7.听音跟读：Listen and read after the tape.
8.角色朗读：小组读、男女读、开火车读、领读、师生对读、角色读。
9.留白处理：留白读，去掉文中关键词让学生填空读。
10.短文示范：
（1）Show the passage of Part 4, ask students to read and understand the sentence: “Chinese New Year usually comes in January or February.”,
(2) Encourage students to find out the activities in Chinese New Year/Spring Festival. “Clean their houses, buy a lot food, get together with family, wear new clothes, visit friends, cook delicious food, see lion dances and dragon dances, get lucky monkey.”
11.学生仿写：（1）Show out the festivals of the Word Bank.
（2）Students can imitate and try to write a little passage“My favorite holiday”.
12.课堂小结：The students look at the blackboard, read the words and sentences together.
13.布置作业：(1)Write the new words and the sentences.
(2)Recite the dialogue of Part 1.
14.情感升华：After learning the text, we should love our homeland and respect the foreign culture.

After the class, most of the students can read the dialogue fluently and
