一、教学目标
1.ss can get the general idea about reading articles about natural disasters and human activities, and can discuss about them.
2. ss can find out the details of the article, clear the purpose of writing the article and try to decide which skill should be adopted in reading.
3.ss can make a description about natural disasters and environmental protection ,and the share their opinions with others.
二、教学重点、难点分析
Key points:ss can get some information about natural disasters and some measures to protect it.
Difficult points:ss can get some key words and phrases and discuss and think about the posters.
三、教学过程
Before class:
* 1. ask ss to make a mind map about the disasters.
During class:
Step 1 Lead in
1. the teacher show ss some pictures about disasters and ask ss to share their opinions and feelings.
* 2.the teacher ask some questions.
Step 2 Pre-reading
Think and discuss.
(1)ss discuss how to lead to the disasters show them to classmates.
*(2)activities拓展活动:the teacher lead ss to answer some questions and givesome explanation.
Step 3 While-reading
1. Read and underline.

(1)Please go through the passage quickly to find the main idea of the passage.
Ss scan the text and get the general idea of it.

Step 4 Post-reading
1. Read and match.
2): Experts tie the problem to the rapid urban development, and cutting down trees is another reason which is largely due to human activities. Some people do not pay enough attention to smog, and they don’t know it is partly caused by the gases from heavy industry and vehicles.
Step 5 Writing
1. Read and write.
*(1)ask ss to imitate and give some suggestions about avoiding disasters.

(1)the teacher show some pictures and encourage ss to finish some exercises and fill in the blanks.
3. Write and practice.
(1)the teacher ask some questions like:

It’s time to act. Let’s make a poster for it.

The etacher lead ss to make a summary about the text.
