1. What do you know about China, Jenny
【辨析】know和know about
(1) know常作及物动词，直接接名词、代词、从句等作宾语，意思是“知道，晓得”。 有时也用作不及物动词。
e.g. Do you know the capital city of China 你知道中国的首都吗
I know her. 我认识她。
(2) know about相当于know something about…，意为“了解某人或某物的一些情况”。
e.g. I know about her.我了解她(的一些事情)。
【拓展】know of意为“知道，听说过”，可以与know about互换。

2. I know a lot about China.
a lot做副词短语，表示“很；非常；常常”，修饰动词。
e.g. It usually rains a lot at this time of year.
每年这个时候都经常下雨。

a lot做名词短语，表示“很多；大量”，在句中做主语、宾语或表语,其后常有动词不定式短语做后置定语。
e.g. Sometimes we have very little snow, but sometimes there’s a lot.
有时我们这儿雪很少，有时却很多。
There is a lot to see at the party. 聚会上有许多可观赏的东西。

3. They speak Chinese.
【辨析】speak, talk, say, tell
(1) speak表示“说某种语言”。
e.g. Do you speak French 你说法语吗
【拓展】表示“演说，演讲，发言”等，一般用 speak。
e.g. Who is going to speak at the meeting 谁将在会上发言
(2) talk 强调双方“交谈”，一般用作不及物动词，表示“同某人谈论（某事）”，可用 talk to/with sb. (about sth.)。
e.g. He was talking to/with a friend. 他在同一位朋友谈话。

(3) say 强调说话的内容，一般用作及物动词。表示“对某人说”，可用 say to sb.。
e.g. Do you say anything (to him) 你(对他)说了些什么
(4) tell 表示“告诉”，可接双宾语。
e.g. I told him my name./ I told my name to him. 我把名字告诉了他。
【拓展】
tell还可接不定式的复合结构作宾语。另外，有时与介词 from 连用表示“区分,辨别”等。
e.g. Tell her to come at once.叫她马上来。
He tells the children not to play on the street.
他叫孩子们不要在街上玩。

4. What else do you know about China
else作副词，意为“其他；别的”，其用法如下：
(1) 跟在疑问代词、副词(who. what. where等）后，表示强调。
e.g. Who else will go to the meeting
还有谁要去参加会议？
(2) 常与不定代词或不定副词 （以-one，-body，-thing，-where结尾的词）连用，且位于这些词的后面。
e.g. Would you like something else to eat？
你还要吃点别的什么吗？
else 修饰不定代词或疑问代词，且必须放在被修饰词之后 Do you have something else
你还有一些别的东西吗？
other 修饰名词， 且位于名词之前 I have no other books.
我没有其他的书了。

5. It is famous around the world.
famous 形容词,意为“闻名的，著名的”。
e.g. The book is very famous now. 这本书现在非常著名。
【拓展】　
(1) be famous as 作为……而出名。
e.g. Lu Xun is famous as a writer. 鲁迅作为一名作家而出名。
(2) be famous for 以……而著名，因……而出名。
e.g. China is famous for the Great Wall.中国以长城而出名。
(3) be famous to 对……来说是著名的。
e.g. Tang Yan is famous to some students. 唐嫣对一些学生来说是出名的。

have a long history意为“有着悠久的历史”。同义短语为：(a country) with a long history。
e.g. China has a long history.＝China is a country with a long history.
