The listening material is bout an interview between a reporter from the school newspaper and students about their preference of music. Different types of music, music instruments, and reasons for preference of different types of music are introduced in the interview.The reporter also paraphrases some of the answer given by students. Help Ss to get to know that music is a kind of communication tool which is cross-language and cross-race.Pre-listening Discuss the different types of music and musical instruments according to the pictures given On the PPT. Asks students to talk about their feeling about different types of music. Talk about their feelings about different kinds of music after listening to these music. Ss will make make a prediction about what is going to listen to.While-listening Listen for the preference of music and their reasons of each students in the conversation and . Talk about the skill of paraphrasing, and give students some examples of paraphrasing. Ask students to read the listening material, and summary some expressions of reasons for liking music. Finish the two listening tasks in the textbook. Ss can improve their listening skill of paraphrasing.Post-listening Ask students to interview each other about their preference of music and list their reasons for liking music and explain their reasons with the skill of paraphrasing. Do the role play to talk about their preference of music and reasons.
