Step I. Lead-in激趣导入
Watch Yu Gong Moves a Mountain and lead into the simple past tense.
1. There was very old man named Yu Gong. One day, Yu Gong called in his family. A god was so moved and he sent two gods to take the mountains away.
2. He was a handsome boy in the past.
3. I often went shopping with my mother last year.

1. What is the simple past tense The simple past tense is used to talk about an event that happened and ended in the past. 一般过去时表示(1). 过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态。It’s also used to talk about habits in the past. (2). 过去经常性或习惯性的动作。
2. The past forms of regular words： 规则动词过去式：直；只；双；变
3. The past forms of irregular words不规则动词过去式

一、主语 +be动词was /were+其他 →主语是第一、三人称单数用was
→主语是第二人称和复数用were
二、主语+实义动词过去式+其他 →实义动词过去式无人称和数变化

1. Now, fill in the blanks. Please press “PAUSE”. Check your answers.
2. Next look at the negative forms. 1. 主语 + was /were + not+其他. →有be动词直接在was /were后面加not。 2. 主语 + didn’t + 实义动词原形+其他.
→didn't+实义动词原形。
3. Look at the general questions. →有be就用be →将was/were提到主语之前。Was/Were + 主语 + 其他 →实义动词就用“Did +主语+实义动词原形 +其他？” →划重点：有be就用be，实义就借did，有did动还原。
4. Circle time words or phrases. 找出一般过去时的时间“暗号”。
5. 闯“天关”。Fill in the blanks.
