学情分析 通过本单元前面内容的学习，学生对中西方传统节日有一定的知识储备。也了解了部分节日的专属用语。中外节日是学生比较感兴趣的话题，这是学习本课的优势。同时同学们阅读能力较以前有所提高，所以对阅读提取信息有一定的方法技巧和整体思路。
核心素养教学目标 语言能力 能读懂有关国外节日的文章；
学习能力 通过阅读文章能够懂得外国新年的寓意，灵活使用阅读技巧，培养阅读能力。
思维品质 通过阅读文章了解圣诞节活动的庆祝，思考外国圣诞节的庆祝的寓意，思考作为中国人是否要庆祝圣诞节这个节日；
文化意识 通过阅读文章《A Christmas Carol》，对比外国新年日和中国新年日的区别，认识到中英文化上的相似性和差异性；
教学重点难点 1．重点： (1)重点短语和句型。 (2)运用适当的阅读策略完成相应的阅读任务。 2．难点：能灵活运用恰当的语言围绕“A Christmas Carol”文章内容展开合理想象，与同伴进行讨论和交流。

Step1 Lead-in Ask some questions T：What is the most important festival in China S1：The Spring Festival. T：Then，what is the most important festival in Western countries S2：Christmas. T：Do you know when Christmas Day is S3：It's on December 25th. T：What do you know about Christmas Ss：Gifts，Christmas trees，Santa Claus… 思考并回答问题。 读前活动旨在为阅读铺垫，激活学生对阅读话题或者与阅读内容相关的知识。
Step2 Pre- reading I Learn the new words Christmas /krism s/n. 圣诞节 fool /fu:l/ n. 蠢人；傻瓜 v. 愚弄adj. 愚蠢的 lie /laI/ v. (lay /leI/, lain /leIn/)平躺；处于 novel /n vl/, n.（长篇）小说 eve /i:v/ n（尤指宗教节假日的）前夜 bookstore /bukst :(r)/ n. 书店 dead /ded/ adj. 死的；失去生命的 business /bizn s/ n. 生意；商业 punish /p nis/ v. 处罚；惩罚 warn /w :(r)n/ v. 警告；告诫 present /preznt/ n. 现在；礼物adj. 现在的 nobody /n ub di/,pron. 没有人 warmth /w :(r)mθ/ n. 温暖；暖和 spread /spred/ v. 传播；展开 n. 蔓延；传播 根据老师的指令学习单词。 用问问题的方式引导学生回答关于单词的知识，用一句话串一串单词，旨在为阅读铺垫，激活学生对阅读内容的兴趣。
Step3 Pre- reading II Ask students to predict what they will read in this passage with the help of the title.Make sure not to read the words in the passage. 根据老师的指令对课文内容进行预测。 指导学生捕捉视觉信息中有助于阅读预测的“线索”，传授阅读预测的方法和技巧，培养学生的预测能力。
Step4 While- reading 1．Let students scan the passage and check their predictions. 2．Get students to read the passage quickly (10－20 seconds) and try to find out the answers to the questions： Q1：What are the common things that people think of for Christmas Q2：Who wrote A Christmas Carol Q3：What is the true meaning of Christmas Make sure the students can understand the meanings of the questions，and ask the students to read the passage as quickly as they can to find the answers. S1：They usually think of gifts，Christmas trees and Santa Claus. S2：Charles Dickens (wrote A Christmas Carol)． S3：The true meaning of Christmas is：the importance of sharing and giving love and joy to people around us. Let the students read the passage again very carefully and complete the chart in 2c individually.Then discuss their answers in pairs and correct the answers together.At first，read the questions and answers in pairs. 4．Then ask students to read the passage more carefully again，and focus on the details.Try to find out the answers to the questions in 2d. (1)Why does Scrooge hate Christmas (2)Does Scrooge have a lot of friends Why or why not (3)Why was Jacob Marley punished after he died (4)Does Jacob Marley want to help Scrooge How do you know (5)How does Scrooge feel when he wakes up on Christmas Day (6)What does Scrooge do after seeing the three spirits Scan the passage. Read quickly and answer Read carefully and answer Read again and answer 培养快速阅读提取信息能力。 让学生初次阅读文本，按照2b要求完成活动，初步理解课文。 要求学生再次阅读文本，训练学生关注细节的能力。 让学生深入理解课文。
Step5 Post- readingI 1．Ask the students to read the passage again and find some key words and sentences.In pairs or in groups they discuss firstly.After that，the teacher should emphasize something important and difficult. 2．Ask the students a question：What do you think the three ghosts say to Scrooge when they visit him In groups of four，the students make a conversation between the three ghosts and Scrooge.Then act out the conversation. 讨论并交流。 在学生熟读及透彻理解课文的基础上，进行小组讨论，让每个学生都有机会参与交流。
Step6 Post- readingII Review and retell the story. Retell the story using his/her own words according to the map. retell the story 通过思维导图复习回顾课文内容；通过复述训练学生的表达能力。
