I. Introduction (5 minutes)

II. Warm-up Activity (10 minutes)

Content:

- Encourage students to use sensory details and figurative language to make their sentences more vivid.
III. Lesson (20 minutes)
Objective:
To teach students how to write a descriptive essay about their favorite place.
Content:
- Discuss the structure of a descriptive essay, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
- Teach students how to use sensory details, figurative language, and narrative structure to create a vivid description of their favorite place.
- Model how to write a descriptive essay about a place that you like using the following outline:
- Introduction: Briefly describe the place and why it is special to you.
- Body Paragraph 1: Describe the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and textures of the place.
- Body Paragraph 2: Describe any personal experiences or emotions that are associated with the place.
- Conclusion: Summarize your description and restate why the place is important to you.
IV. Practice (10 minutes)
Objective:
To give students an opportunity to practice their descriptive writing skills.
Content:
- Assign students to write a descriptive essay about their favorite place using the outline provided in the lesson.
- Encourage students to use sensory details, figurative language, and narrative structure to create a vivid description of their favorite place.
- Walk around the room to provide feedback on student's essays as they work.
V. Homework (5 minutes)
