Lesson 14 Accidents Happen
一、语篇研读 （一级标题黑体小四）
What：本课语篇是一个有关新闻报道类的记叙文，文章记录了一个女孩在早上篮球练习的路上被汽车撞倒，路人安德鲁斯夫人正巧看到了这一幕的发生，司机比尔.莫兰叫了一辆救护车，并对小女孩进行基础性的急救等这样的事件。
Why：此篇文章引导我们在过马路时，我们需要做什么？当我们看见有人在事故中受伤严重时，我们应该做什么？
How：本课描述了一场有关上学路上的车祸，它以新闻的方式报道了一次事故，分别向我们阐述了When and where did the accident happen 事故是什么时候在哪里发生的 How did the accident happen 事故是怎样发生的 Who was the victim 谁是受害者 Who was there when the accident happened 事故发生时谁在那里 Did they help 他们帮忙了吗 How did the doctor save the victim 医生是怎样挽救受害者的 What was the result of the accident 事故的结果是什么 我们可以通过采访这些人:受害者、证人、医生来看待本次事故。
二、教学目标
通过本课的学习，学生能够：
能准确地发音和使用 accident,town,reporter,roll,fault, icy,ugly, shoulder, wound, recover, expect 等词汇。
能够获取: The accident happened at about 7:30a.m./She and her brother, James, were on their way to an early basketball practice./“We were in a hurry,” James told the reporter. /We didn't want to be late for practice./Mrs. Andrews, who was walking several steps behind the two students,saw it happen.等句子。
2.熟练理解“描述车祸”的文章,能够听懂并从中获取有效信息。
3.通过一系列听说练习流利地和他人能用所学词汇和句型进行表达报道车祸的起因、经过及结果。
三、教学过程（依据教学目标设计教学活动）
Step I Warming up
多媒体出示几起车祸的图片。
T:Boys and girls,what happened in the pictures Ss:They are car accidents.
T:Yes. Can you describe them

T:OK. Well done! Now this lesson we will learn a car accident. Are you ready
设计意图:此环节利用图片,通过师生间的对话导入本课的话题“车祸”，利用会话将学生带入车祸现场,预热本课的词汇和句型。
Step ⅡPre-reading
Task 1 Teach the words,phrases and practice the sentence patterns.
教师出示本课单词的图片,导人词汇、短语、句型的学习。在这个环节,学生学习词汇与短语accident，town,reporter,roll, fault,icy,ugly, shoulder, wound, recover, expect, in a hurry,in time, stop sb.from doing sth.等。在学习词组的过程中，通过师生对话操练 What happened Who was hurt Who's fault is it 等句型。

设计意图:此环节通过师生间的对话,引入词-短语-句型操练,学习过程从词到句，从句子到对话，通过教师领读，师生对话学习单词，词组与句型。在不知不觉中初步感知句型教学遵循从浅到深，从易到难，层层递进。尊重语言学习的规律，也符合学生的认知规律。
Task 2 Have a competition game to practice the sentence a patterns in pairs.
教师把全班分为8个小组进行争夺获胜组游戏，教师通过屏幕展示更多生动有趣的图片，要求学生做结对练习操练句型，不出现错误的小组可获一颗星,说的句子和词汇最多的组为获胜组!

设计意图:通过竞赛游戏的方式充分调动学生主动参与的意识,增添了学生语言学习的乐趣,使学生在操练中潜移默化地感知句型，运用本课的词汇和短语。调动学生的多种感官体验，突破本课教学重难点。

教师播放录音,播放一句,暂停一次,学生听录音并跟读课文。

设计意图:通过学生听对话录音并跟读,模仿,能提高学生的语感,提高对英语语音、语调的感悟力和运用正确语音语调进行口语输出的能力。

学生通过合作探究找出大屏幕上出现的短语和句子。

设计意图:学生应是学习的主体,教师要努力调动学生学习的积极性和主动性，通过组内合作讨论,探究,找出对话中的重点短语和句子，把所学的知识转化为学习能力。
Task 4 Choose an excellent student to be the teacher to teach and control the “Question Time”.
让一位学生自愿到讲台前代替自己充当教师的角色，领读、提问屏幕上的知识点，学生学习知识点。(学生所在的小组加2颗星)

设计意图:此活动在任务的设计上加大了一定的难度，让学生充当老师，以适应优秀生的要求。学生成为课堂真正的主人，学生教学生，学生更可以集中注意力于课堂的内容,引入小组竞争，学生积极性更高。
Task 5 Challenge your memory.
教师给学生最后一次看课文的机会,要求学生尽可能地记忆课文中的词汇，迎接记忆大挑战。

教师把全班分为8组合作探究,假设自己是一名小记者，打算报道一场事故。先让两个英语基础好的同学表演一下，给大家做个示范,教师纠正他们出现的错误,然后让其他同学模仿学习他们,最后小组代表到前面利用投影仪边说边展示他们的成果,根据表演程度加星。这样掌握知识深刻，不易忘记,达到了教学的目的。

设计意图:此环节通过小组合作形式,操练，运用本节课所学的句型，描述一场事故。为学生创建了成果展示的平台，并将本课所学知识点升华为贴近实际生活的语言交际。在教学的过程中极大地激发了学生的兴趣。
