Talk About Festival Activities
I. Teaching Objectives and Requirements
Objective:
1. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand and use key vocabulary related to festival activities.

3. Students will be able to engage in a group discussion about festival activities in English.
Requirements:
1. Students should have a basic understanding of signal and system concepts from their course.
2. Students should be able to communicate effectively in English.
II. Course Overview and Contextualization (5 minutes)
- Introduce the topic of festival activities by sharing some common festivals celebrated around the world.
- Discuss the importance of festivals in different cultures and how they are often associated with traditions, customs, and celebrations.
- Explain that understanding festival activities is essential for effective communication when traveling or interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds.
III. Key Vocabulary and Expressions (10 minutes)
1. Discuss key vocabulary related to festival activities, such as "fireworks," "lantern," "dance," "food," "gifts," etc.
2. Introduce expressions commonly used during discussions about festival activities, such as "What do you think about... ", "Have you ever experienced... ", "I remember...when I was...", etc.
3. Encourage students to use these words and expressions in their own sentences during the group discussion.
IV. Group Discussion (20 minutes)
1. Divide the class into small groups of 3-4 students each. Each group will discuss a specific festival activity and share their opinions and experiences using the key vocabulary and expressions learned earlier.
2. Facilitate the discussion by asking open-ended questions, encouraging students to take turns speaking, and providing feedback on their language use.
3. After the group discussion, ask each group to share their findings with the class and provide examples of how they used the key vocabulary and expressions during the discussion.
V. Homework (5 minutes)
Assign homework where students write a short essay about a festival activity they have experienced or would like to experience in the future, using the key vocabulary and expressions learned during class. They should also include examples of how they would use these words and expressions in their writing.
VI. Assessment and Reflection (5 minutes)
- Evaluate students' participation in the group discussion based on their active engagement, language use, and ability to work collaboratively with their peers.
- Review students' essays for accuracy, fluency, and use of key vocabulary and expressions, providing feedback on areas for improvement.
