I. Teaching Objectives

IV. Teaching Process
1. Warm-up (5 minutes)
- Start with a brief discussion on current events or news stories that interest students. This will help to engage them and create a comfortable learning environment.
2. Presentation (15 minutes)
- Introduce the concept of a news report and its importance in today's world. Explain the structure and format of a typical news report.
- Show examples of news reports from various sources (e.g., newspapers, TV news broadcasts, online articles) and discuss their similarities and differences.
- Discuss the key elements of a news report, such as the headline, lead paragraph, body text, and conclusion.
3. Practice (15 minutes)
- Divide students into small groups and assign each group one news report to summarize. Encourage them to use the key elements discussed earlier as they work on their summaries.
- Afterward, have each group present their summary to the class for feedback and discussion.
4. Application (10 minutes)
- Ask students to read another news report and identify its main points and key details using the techniques learned in class. Then, ask them to write a short summary of their findings in English.
- Review the students' summaries together and provide feedback on their language usage, organization, and clarity.
5. Wrap-up (5 minutes)
- Review the importance of being able to read and understand news reports in today's globalized world. Remind students that practicing summarizing will help them develop this essential skill.
