重点：学会从听力材料中获取所需要的信息。
难点： 运用本课所学的元音字母在开音节中的读音规律，准确朗读新单词。
教学突破：五个元音字母在重读开音节中的发音要让学生弄清楚什么是开音节、闭音节，及五个元音字母在重读开音节中的发什么音，在放在已学的单词中体会，悟出规律。

Step I Lead-in (导入部分)
1. Free talk : review the simple present tense of the verb to be .
T: I am an English teacher . Are you an English teacher S: No , I’m not . I am a student .
T: Yes , you are a student . Is he/ she a student S: Yes , he / she is .
2. Present and learn the new words
Step II Presentation(新授)
1. Part A Meeting my new friends.
Please read the profiles on page 13 .
Answer the questions :What does Kitty love What is Amy good at
Help Millie circle the correct answers in the table .
2. Listen to Millie and her mother’s conversation and circle the rest of the table . Ask and answer in pairs :
Model : T: How old is Kitty S: She is eleven years old .
T: Is Amy eleven years old , too S: No, she is twelve years old .
T: Is Kitty’s hair long S: Yes , it is .
T: Does Amy have long hair too S: No, she doesn’t . She has short hair .
3. Finish A 3 : Let’s listen to the conversation again . Please complete Millie’s notes in Part A 3 according to the tape and the table in Part A 1 .
4. Check the answers in pairs first . Then we’ll check in the whole class .
5. Read the notes together .
6. Work in groups of four : You can ask your friend’s name , age , looks , hobbies and so on .
