Do you often have questions in daily life What do you probably want to do if you have a question I’m sure you may want to get a quick answer on the Internet. But how can you make it Now some technology companies are working to make this come true by developing chatbots. They are computer programs that can communicate with people by phone, on messaging apps or on websites.
Chatbots can look up information, answer often asked questions and collect information from users. They can also be used for online shopping to help people choose things that they really need and then decide what to buy.
There are two kinds of chatbots: closed and open. A closed chatbot may or may not use AI (人工智能) to understand messages from users. An open chatbot uses AI both to know what people want and to create a reply. Open chatbots are able to learn from their conversations and then improve their ability to communicate over time. This means that open chatbots can answer a wider range (范围) of questions compared with closed chatbots.
Chatbots have many important advantages. One of them is that chatbots are available all the time, even at midnight. What’s more, one chatbot can serve a large number of users at once. This means that people can get answers quickly instead of waiting for the reply of a human agent.
However, chatbots can’t take the place of human agents. Someone has to program the chatbots at the beginning and train them. Sometimes, open chatbots can’t give answers to certain questions. Besides, quite a few people like speaking to a human better, not a chatbot.

In August, 45, some new rules came out to restrict (限制) young people’s online game time. People under the age of 2 can only play online games three hours a week. Online game providers can offer only one-hour service to young people from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. They are very popular with teachers and parents.
Zhang Zhe, a high school teacher in Nanjing, thinks online games influence students’ studies a lot. At home, parents often find it hard to stop their children from playing them. What’s worse, students might have no interest in developing friendship. “Students who become seriously addicted (上瘾的) to online games often find all kinds of excuses to play them. They also spend little on food or clothes to save their money for online games. So I think it is really necessary for the government to take action.” said Wu Li, a teacher in Wuhan.
Mrs. Wang, a mother of a high school student in Shanghai, used to have difficulty keeping her son away from online games, so she felt really glad when the new rules came out. “Whenever I tried to stop him, he got really angry. For several months, he even refused to talk to me,” said Mrs. Wang.
Thanks to the rules, students can have more time to take up new hobbies. To make sure that students develop healthier lifestyle (生活方式), schools, teachers and parents need to work closely to help young students find proper hobbies, and hold different after-school activities for them.

Can plants talk Modern research has found something amazing: they do communicate with each other.
It has been known for some time that plants use chemicals to communicate with each other. This happens when a plant gets attacked by insects. The plant gives out chemicals from the leaves that are being eaten. This is like a warning, or a call for help: “I’m being attacked!” When another plant gets the chemicals, it starts to give out its own, different chemicals. Some of these chemicals drive insects away. Others attract the wasps(黄蜂)! The wasps kill the insects that are eating the plants. Scientists hope to learn more about this plant warning system, so that we can use it to grow more crops.
More surprisingly, plants also use sound to communicate. People can’t hear these sounds; but plants are making them. Some plants make noises with their roots( 根 ). Some trees make clicking noises when there is not enough water.
Most surprisingly of all, plants have an amazing system of communication that can link nearly every plant in a forest. Scientists call this system the “wood wide web”. The wood wide web is linked underground by fungi(真菌). It links the roots of different plants to each other. It is in some ways similar to the Internet we use. Using the wood wide web, plants can share information and even food with each other. However, it may lead to bad effects. Plants may use it to steal food from each other, or spread chemicals to attack other plants. Perhaps one day scientists will learn how to create a “firewall” to help prevent these attacks within the wood wide web.
Scientists are learning more every day about the secret ways in which plants talk to each other. Maybe one day we will know enough about plant communication to be able to “talk” with them ourselves.

根据材料内容选择最佳答案。
1. What will plants do when they are attacked by insects

B. By spreading chemicals to each other.
C. By connecting the roots of different plants to each other.
D. By sharing food and information with each other.
3. What is the writer’s purpose of the last paragraph
A. To give people hope for further studies. B. To praise scientists for their great achievements.
C. To call on people to protect the plants on Earth. D. To inspire people to communicate with plants.
