In southwestern France’s sunny “pink city” —Toulouse, the cuisine is both rich and tasty. Here, we single out three must-tastes of Toulouse.
Toulouse sausage
Sign up for Jessica’s brilliant Taste of Toulouse tours and you’ll get to eat your way around the city’s best food market, Marché Victor Hugo. One of the stands to dash directly to is Maison Garcia, which specializes in saucisse de Toulouse, the city’s famous black peppery (胡椒味的) sausage sold in a large spiral and ideal for grilling or barbecuing. You can also try or buy the dried version, saucisse sèche, which is wonderful for picnics.
Cassoulet
If there’s one dish every meat lover must try when visiting this southwestern corner of France, it’s the region’s signature dish. Made with Toulouse sausage, white beans, pork rind and trotter, confit duck and local garlic, Cassoulet gets its name from the cassole clay pot in which it’s cooked. While this dish is centuries old, Toulouse has only recently formed its own Brotherhood of the Toulouse Cassoulet, which will promote it, alongside the other two cities—Carcassonne and Castelnaudary—who also claim it as their signature dish. In Toulouse, chefs add lamb to make it their own, but each has their preferred method.
Violets
Toulouse may be known as the pink city, but its signature flavour is violet. The flowers became a popular crop in the city in the 19th century as they thrived in winter. While cheaper versions taste soapy, the best quality violet flavour lends a gentle perfume (香味,香水) to ice cream, macarons (马卡龙), and some French cakes. A fragrant port is La Maison de la Violette, which is set in a small boat moored(停泊)on the side of the Canal du Midi in central Toulouse and offers a selection of delicious violet treats, from crystallized petals to tasty violet-shell chocolate almonds.
21. Which is Toulouse sausage NOT ideal for according to the passage
A. Picnics. B. Violet treats. C. Barbecuing. D. Cassoulet.
22. What do Toulouse, Carcassonne and Castelnaudary have in common
A. Chefs there add lamb to Cassoulet.
B. They claim Cassoulet as their signature dish.
C. They are located in the southwestern of France.
D. Chefs there make famous black peppery sausage.
23. What can visitors do at the La Maison de La Violette
A. Taking a boat tour in Toulouse. B. Wearing violet flavor perfumes.
C. Learning the origin of Toulouse. D. Enjoying various tasty violet foods.

Jessie is on a mission to change wellness in New Zealand forever. That sounds like a noble ambition, but it’s one coming from a commitment started by adversity(逆境). Jessie was only 30 when she heard the news no one at any age wants to hear.
“I was happily married, six months pregnant(怀孕的) and excited about my future. Then everything changed in an instant. The doctors had discovered a tumour bigger than my baby’s head around my uterus(子宫).”
Jessie had emergency surgery to save her baby and remove the tumour. She then had to undergo months of debilitating (令人虚弱的) treatment. But the surgery was just the beginning of the journey. Chemotherapy(化疗) doesn’t build people up; it breaks them down. In many ways, the hardest and longest part of the journey is what comes after the therapy stops—a long road back to wellness.
“I came from a medicine-related background, so I knew the power of modern drugs. But there was a point where chemicals weren’t enough, and my recovery delayed. I knew I needed to try to use the power of nature to help me find my way back to wellness,” says Jessie. “I spent years studying options and learning about what was available to me.”
As Jessie regained her strength, she decided she could make a difference to New Zealanders by sharing her experience and new-found knowledge to help people live healthier lives. And through that journey, AJE Healthcare started. Jessie’s mission was to make natural healthcare easy to understand and effective in helping people live their best lives.
But this is just the beginning for Jessie. She is determined to grow her business, serve her customers delightfully, and make natural healthcare accessible to all New Zealanders.

A. When she was pregnant. B. When she delivered a baby.
C. When she had a noble ambition. D. When she moved to New Zealand.
25. What can we know about the emergency surgery Jessie had
A. It broke her down. B. It completely cured her.
C. It worsened her condition. D. It was the beginning of the treatment.
26. Why was AJE Healthcare established
A. To cure patients of cancer. B. To make medical care easier.
C. To promote Jessie’s business. D. To help with people’s wellness.
27. What could be the best title for the passage
A. Finding Purpose Through Adversity
B. The Establishment of AJE Healthcare
C. Jessie, a Tough Mother in New Zealand
D. How New Zealanders Pursue Wellbeing

For 85 years, the Harvard Study of Adult Development has tracked an original group of 724 men and more than 1,300 of their male and female descendants (后代) over three generations, asking thousands of questions and taking hundreds of measurements to find out what really keeps people healthy and happy.
Through all the years of studying these lives, one crucial factor stands out for the consistency and power of its bond to physical health, mental health and longevity: good relationships.
In 2008, researchers telephoned the wives and husbands of Harvard Study couples in their 80s every night for eight nights. Researchers spoke to each partner separately and asked them a series of questions about their days.
On days when these men and women spent more time in the company of others, they were happier. Like most older people, those in the Harvard Study experienced day-to-day rises and falls in their levels of physical pain and health difficulties. But researchers found that the people who were in more satisfying relationships were cushioned (缓冲) somewhat from these ups and downs of mood—their happiness did not decline as much on the days when they had more pain. Simply put, their happy marriages seemed to have a protective effect.
Elizabeth Gillespie, a therapist of couples, stated that although most of us found that our experience of relationships might be hard, and at times, impossible, it is essential to our well-being.
Today we live in much more complicated environments, so meeting our social needs presents different challenges. We might be sitting on a gold mine of vitality that we are not paying attention to, because it is hidden by the shiny appeal of smartphones or pushed to the side by work demands.
28. What’s the purpose of the Harvard Study of Adult Development
A. To study their lives over three generations.
B. To reveal the secret to health and well-being.
C. To track the descendants of an original group.
D. To study the relationship between health and happiness.
29. How did the researchers carry out the study
A. By working with other researchers.
B. By tracking specific groups of people.
C. By helping participants with social difficulties.
D. By comparing the results from different people.
30. Why did the author mention the examples in Paragraph 4
A. To provide evidence for the bond of health and longevity.
B. To introduce the concept of physical pain and health difficulties.
C. To show the negative impact of unhappy marriages on older people’s mood.
D. To support the positive impact of satisfying relationships on people’s lives.
31. According to Elizabeth Gillespie, what is essential to our well-being
A. Having good social connections.
B. Declining pains and difficulties.
C. Overcoming ups and downs of mood.
D. Experiencing rises and falls of physical health.
D
It’s a reality that food production, biodiversity and carbon storage in ecosystems are competing for the same land. As humans demand more food, so more forests are cleared, and farms become less pleasant to many wild animals and plants. Therefore, global conservation will fail unless it addresses the issue of food production.
Fortunately, some new technologies are being developed that make a system-wide revolution in food production possible. According to recent research, this transformation could meet increased global food demands by a growing human population on less than 20% of the world’s existing farmland.
Around four-fifths of the land is used to produce meat and dairy. Global meat consumption has increased by more than 50% in the past 20 years. Producing all that extra meat will mean either changing even more land into farms, or cramming even more cows, chickens and pigs into existing land. Neither option is good for biodiversity.
Unless food production is tackled head-on, we are left with no hope of long-term success. We need to tackle the cause of biodiversity change. The principal global approach to climate change is to focus on the cause and minimize greenhouse gas emissions, not to manufacture (制造) billions of parasols (遮阳伞). The same is required for biodiversity.
Luckily, lab-grown food provides an alternative. The process involves growing animal products from real animal cells, rather than growing actual animals. Animal cruelty would be eliminated and, with no need for cows wandering around in fields, the factory would take up far less space to produce the same amount of meat or milk.
Other emerging technologies include microbial protein production, where bacteria use energy derived(来自) from solar panels to change carbon dioxide and other nutrients into carbohydrates and proteins. This could generate as much protein as soybeans but in just 7% of the area.
It is even possible to generate sugars through extracting CO, from the atmosphere, all without ever passing through a living plant or animal. The resulting sugars are chemically the same as those derived from plants but would be generated in a tiny fraction of the area required by conventional crops.
32. What plays a key role in global conservation
A. Carbon storage. B. Food production.
C. New technology. D. Existing farmland.
33. What does the underlined word “cramming” in Paragraph 3 mean
A. Producing. B. Transforming. C. Packing. D. Dividing.
34. What is the principal global approach to biodiversity change
A. Focusing on the cause of it. B. Developing new technologies.
C. Manufacturing billions of parasols. D. Minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.
35. What is the main idea of Paragraph 5 to Paragraph 7
A. New technologies make lessening farmland possible.
B. Generating sugars requires a tiny fraction of the area.
C. Lab-grown food helps to produce more meat and milk.
D. New technologies have resolved the issue of food production.
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余 选项。
As the weekend comes to an end, many of us are missing out on Sunday Funday and instead experiencing a sense of anxiety and even dread (恐惧) about the upcoming week. 36 Here’s how you can ease your end-of-weekend anxiety.
Structure your Sunday.
Structure can be a best friend when feeling the Sunday scaries. Instead of sitting on the couch and watching the clock aimlessly, do something that you enjoy. You might still get that sense of dread, but that feeling is harder to hold on to when you have a cheerful schedule. 37 It’s important to make space for relaxing activities.
Identify your anxiety sources.
Anxiety is a normal human experience. 38 Create multiple to-do lists: one list for tasks that need to be completed immediately, another for tasks that are less urgent, and a final list for tasks that you’d like to complete at some point. Seeing these can help put into perspective what’s important and what you can let go of for now. This can help decrease the anticipation of the stress and dread of the week.
Create some excitement for the week ahead.
Having something to look forward to gives you something to think about that’s pleasing, rather than only focusing on the dread you feel. It’s a form of reframing your thoughts. Do not focus on the awful things. 39 This gives you the opportunity to shift your thoughts to something fun and will help improve your mood.
40
Make Sunday nights about doing something for yourself. In this way, you are able to give yourself proper relaxing time. It could be planning some favorite foods to enjoy while watching football. Do your best to honor this time and make Sunday night all about you—leave the work emails for Monday morning.
A. Check the emails on Sunday nights.
B. End your Sunday with the right energy.
C. Besides, try not to stuff your weekend with too many odds and ends.
D. Instead, build excitement over a coffee or lunch date with a friend.
E. Although the Sunday scaries are common, they are still manageable.
F. One way to manage it is to find what really causes you to dread the week.
G. It can be whatever feels like a helpful distraction to flee from the anxiety.

“Tiki!”I yelled.
Our little white dog Tiki had slipped out the door earlier that evening while I was carrying groceries into the house. Now I was searching the neighborhood with my seven-year-old son, Jordan, and my three-year-old daughter, Julia, trying to find him.
The last few months had been difficult. After losing my husband, I could no longer afford our house in New York. The kids and I moved in northern Indiana, 150 miles away from the city. Change was easier for Julia at her age, but Jordan missed his friends and his old school. Losing his childhood dog was the last thing he needed.
We called out Tiki’s name and knocked on neighbors’ doors until it was too dark to see. We were forced to return home empty-handed.
“Mom, it’s all new here. What if Tiki can’t find our house ” asked Jordan.
“It’s okay,”I said. “He’s wearing his collar and dog tags, so if someone finds him, they’ll call me, and we’ll get him back. “It was at that moment that I realized with horror that Tiki’s tags listed our address and phone number in New York. If someone found him, they’d have no way to reach me.
I kept asking around to see if anyone had spotted him. But after two weeks, I was beginning to lose hope.
The kids were upset, especially Jordan. One afternoon, I found him crying in his room. “At school, we had to write about our wishes,” he said. “I wrote, ‘I wish my dog would come home.’ Mrs. Rush hung our papers in the hallway (走廊). Every time I see my paper, I feel sad.” My heart broke for him.
So later that week, when he put on an old T-shirt from his old school back in New York, something told me to just let him do it. When he got home that afternoon, he told me the school librarian had asked him about his T-shirt. “I told him that we just moved here from Now York,” said Jordan.

1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

39.D 根据小标题和设空处后一句中的 “This ”可推测得出,此处应为重新架构思路的具体例子、做法或建议,且说明应如何重塑思想。故此选 D。

第一节(满分15分)
One possible version:
The online class was absolutely wonderful. Themed on the Appreciation of Classic Poetry, it unfolded the eternal charm of classic poetry to us. Online as it was, this class created a totally immersive atmosphere.
The highlight of the class was the short clip named “When Li Bai Meets William Wordsworth”. By comparing the differences and similarities of these two great romantic poets, the video gave us a new insight into their writing skills and the emotions hidden behind the lines. It also triggered our passion to explore more about the ever-lasting beauty of poems.
Honestly, it would be better if more interactive elements, such as mini-games or real-time comments, are included in this class. Generally speaking, it was truly fantastic.
第二节(满分25分)
One possible version:
The next day, the school librarian called to tell that his grown daughter found a dog a few weeks ago. He thought it might be ours. He didn’t know the details, so he passed on his daughter’s phone number and address, which was more than two miles from my house. An impossibly long distance for a small dog like Tiki. I dialed the number anyway. “He’s a small white dog and his tag says TIKI,” the lady on the phone said. The kids and I piled into the car and rushed over. Minutes later, my kids were sitting on the floor in the librarian’s daughter’s kitchen, laughing while Tiki licked their faces.
“Thank you for taking care of Tiki,” I said, “but what made your dad think he was ours ” She told me she’d mentioned to him that she’d found a little dog. A few weeks later, he was mopping the hallway when he spotted Jordan’s wish. Could it be the same dog His daughter said no, the dog had New York tags with a disconnected phone number. “But then he noticed Jordan’s New York T-shirt and put two and two together ” I asked. She nodded. That night, Jordan thanked God for bringing Tiki home. And I thanked God for prompting me to let Jordan wear the ratty old T-shirt that made the reunion possible.
