Good morning,my dear judges.It’s my great honor to share my lesson with all of you here.Today my topic is Unit3 What would you like Section A Let’s learn and role-play.My lesson consists of five parts:analysis of the teaching material;the teaching aims;the teaching methods;the detailed procedures and blackboard design.
Firstly，I’ll talk about the teaching methods.This unit is from PEP book five.Such a topic is related to daily life,which can spur students’ great curiosity to learn it.This unit mainly includes five sections:Talk A dinner at home; Learn A yummy food;Talk B Today’s menu; Learn B different food different taste;Read and write make creative food. Each section will be learned with one lesson.And all the lessons together will contribute to the educational value of the whole unit:we should keep a balanced diet. The vocabulary and sentence patterns taught in this lesson can provide the students a variety of materials to talk with others and improve their abilities of communication and cooperation.
According to the new standard curriculum and the new syllabus,I’ll set the four teaching objectives.The first one,language skills.By the end of the class,students will be able to listen、speak、read and write five new words about food and drink. And they can also correctly use the words and expressions in the context to simulate ordering food and write a menu.The next one,learning ability.In this class,we will develop students’ cooperation and expression skills through role-play and group work.As for thinking quality,students’ creative thinking quality will be developed through making a new dialogue about ordering food.The last one,cultural awareness.Students’ awareness of developing healthy eating habits will be enhanced.
In order to achieve these objectives, I’m going to apply communicative language teaching methods and cooperative learning approach .Students will be the real masters of the class.While I,the teacher,act as the director.I will arrange some interesting activities for my students.They can be using the language while learning the language.
As we all know,teaching procedure is the key to a lesson.So I will divided this part into six steps.
Step1 Warm-up Before the new lesson,I’ll get the students to sing an English song to keep the students relax and begin this lesson with an exciting atmosphere.
Step2 Let’s review In this step,I’ll show some food words and pictures we have learned before with the PPT.And the class speak English accordingly. In this step,I’ll use the fridge teaching aids to take out pictures of food.Then we will practice these new word in different ways.Such as read by boys and girls and read by train to deepen their memories.Then watch and imitate. Students should pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation.
Step 3 Practice.I will arrange three activities to practice the words and patterns we have learned today.Activity 1:Look at the dial pointer.Try to speak as quickly as you can. Activity 2:Pair-work Activity 3:listen and finish the order. As we all know,students in primary school like to show their abilities.And these activities can provide the students a good chance to show themselves.And it can also arouse their interest of learning English.
Step 4 Production.Students work in groups of four.One acts as the waiter.The other three act as the guests.Try to make a new dialogue. After three minutes I’ll invite some groups to come to the platform and act it out.Then I will give them emotional education.Though food is delicious,remember don’t eat too much.
Step 5 Summary.I’ll invite some students to say what we have learned today.Doing these activities can give students more opportunities to join the class and it can also consolidate the content of this class.
Step 6 Homework. Ask the students to make a survey what would your friends like to eat /drink.Then write it down. As we all know,homework is so important and necessary.And it can check whether the students achieve the teaching aims or not.
That’s all about my detailed procedures.Now I’ll talk about the last part:blackboard design.In order to make sure the knowledge concise and clear.My blackboard design is like this:the title is in the middle;on the left I show the words and phrases;on the right are the important sentences.All the key word and sentences are listed on the blackboard.
During my teaching,I will try my best to get my class alive and encourage the students to talk with each other in English. I think the general aim of English teaching is to improve the ability of using English.And I will use this to guide my teaching. That’s all. Thanks for your listening.Thanks.
