Unit 2 I think that mooncakes are delicious! (Period 2)
Section A (3a-3c)
本单元话题是“节日”（Festivals)。本节课是本单元的第二节课，是一节阅读课。通过本节课的学习，要求学生能谈论中秋节的相关背景知识，并能够用英语描述中国传统节日来历以及体会传统节日背后的浓浓感情。活动3a-3c通过阅读语篇加强语言输入量，发展学生的阅读技能，强化对本单元新语言内容的认知。
学完这一课，学生能够掌握：
1．词汇：folk、goddess、whoever、steal、lay、dessert、garden、tradition、admire、in the shape of、shoot down、fly up to、call out ... to、lay out、admire the moon、share sth. with、as a result的用法；
2．能力：能够在阅读有关“节日”这一话题的活动中，培养掌握文章大意和获取关键
信息的能力，并进一步掌握宾语从句的用法；
3．交际功能：能够熟练运用宾语从句向他人介绍中国的传统节日。

新课导入
首先，教师采用Look and say的活动形式，对学生提出“Look at the picture. What festival do you think of What do you know about the festival ”的问题，让同学们采取头脑风暴的形式，根据自己已知的知识进行问答，从而导入本节课的学习并为接下来的教学做铺垫。
新知探究
Step 1: New words
教师要求学生课前预习新词，教师可抽出适当时间进行检测，确保学生掌握本节生词，为新课学习做准备。
Step 2: Pre-reading
【教师活动】
1．采用Free talk的形式，让学生根据自己掌握的词汇量，勇敢地说出和中秋节有关的英语词汇。如：moon、mooncakes、family、get together ...
2． 然后通过图文引导的形式，让学生尝试着用英文说出和该图片有关的神话故事。如：Chang’e Flies to the Moon、Hou Yi Shoots the Suns。
【学生活动】按照教师的指令，勇敢地说出和中秋节有关的英语词汇以及和中秋节有关的神话故事。
Step 3: While-reading
【教师活动】让学生快速阅读3a，并将每一段与中秋节匹配起来。
【学生活动】按照教师的指令，快读文章并完成信息匹配，了解每段的主旨大意。
【教师活动】教师核对答案，让学生能正确说出判断依据。
【学生活动】按照教师的指令核对答案并说出判断依据。
【教师活动】引导学生仔细阅读文章，然后回答后面的问题（3a活动任务）并判断正误。通过不同的阅读任务，训练学生获取文章关键信息的能力。
【学生活动】按照教师的指令，仔细阅读文章，完成阅读任务（即：回答问题并判断正误）。
【教师活动】对答案进行核对，然后让学生在文中找出判断答案正误的依据，目的是训练学生对文本细节内容的理解。

2．然后让学生不看课文，试着用正确的单词完成句子。（3c活动任务）

Step 4: Post-reading
【教师活动】向学生提问：“What do you learn from the passage ”，让两人一组先讨论，然后教师让同学用访谈的方法问答相关问题，锻炼学生的语言概括和逻辑表达能力。
【学生活动】根据教师指令，尝试着用英文进行语言输出。
Step 5: Language points in 3a-3c
【教师活动】教师让学生分组进行探究发现，由学生列出他们认为本节课的重点知识。教师最后进行整体讲解。
【学生活动】学生列出他们认为本节课的重点知识，小组讨论，总结归纳，完成学习任务单中的课堂学习任务。在教师讲解后，学生根据自己的实际掌握情况进行查漏补缺。
