概 述
There be 后面的名词是句子的主语，属倒装结构。疑问句形式是将be或will/have/can/must等助动词、情态动词提至there之前，否定形式则直接在be或助动词、情态动词后加not，因此要表达“某个地方或某个时间存在什么事物或人”的时候常用“There be + 名词+ 地点（时间）这一句型。
① There is a lamp on the table.
② There are lots of people who can actually help you.

1、如果There be 句型后的主语是几个并列的名词时，be 应与靠近的那个名词保持数的一致。即该名词是单数，be 用is/was；如该名词是复数，be 用are/were, 即“就近原则”。
① There are some apples in the bowl.
② There are five books, two pens and a ruler in the school bag.
③ There is a ruler, two pens and five books in the school bag.
2. 当主语是可数名词单数或不可数名词时，其谓语动词be必须用单数；当主语是可数名词复数时，其谓语动词be必须用复数。
① There is a river in the picture.
② There are two children in the room.
③ There was a bank between the post office and the primary school.
④ There is some apple juice in the bottle.
3、如果主语是复数名词，却表示一笔金额或一个总数或表达一个单个概念时，则用单数形式。
There is five hundred dollars to pay.
There is still another 20 miles to drive.
There is duck and green vegetables for supper.
例：
4、There is(was)+not +doing 结构相当于 It is (was) impossible to +动词原形。表示某事是不可能的
例：
① There is not going home.
=It is impossible to go home.
② There is not living with him.
=It is impossible to live with him.
③ There is not knowing what may happen.
=It is impossible to know what may happen.
There be结构的用法
1. There be 句型中动词be可以有一般现在时、一般过去时、将来时和完成时。
① There isn't harm in trying.
② There were fabulous wildflowers in the hills last spring.
③There will be a fine day tomorrow.
2.There be 句型可以和各种助动词、情态动词连用。
① There may be a cigarette in that box.
② There must be some cakes on the table.
3、There be 中的be 有时可以是live, remain, seem, appear, exist, stand, lie, come等。
例：
① There lies a river to the south.
② There lived an old man in the small house.
③ There stood a temple near the river.
④ There came a taxi.
4.There be 句型也可以和这样一些的谓语动词连用：be going to, seem to, appear to, used to, be likely to, happen to等（但是一定要有be）
① There seem to be a few trees behind that house.
② There is going to be a meeting tonight.
③ There is likely to be a storm.
④ There happened to be a bus nearby.
⑤ There appears to have been an accident.
⑥There used to be a castle at the foot of the hill.
5. There be 句型的否定句
构成方式是将否定副词not放在be/助动词/情态动词 之后 。
① There isn’t a box in the room.
② There aren’t any pens on the desk.
③ There hasn’t been any rain for a week.
④There won’t be a meeting today.
6. There be疑问句
(1). There be 句型的一般疑问句是将be 放在主语there 之前，回答时用yes或no，后接简单答语。
① Is there a cake on the table
Yes，there is. / No，there isn’t.
② Will there be a party tonight？
Yes，there will./ No, there won’t.
(3). There be 句型的反意疑问句。
① There is a cup on the table, isn’t there
② There is some orange in the glass, isn’t there
③ There are a lot of letters in the mailbox, aren’t there
④There will be a new hospital nearby, won’t there
(2).There be 句型的特殊疑问句主要有how many和how
much 做引导词两种情况
①How many students are there in your school
②How much money is there in your pocket
注意：there be 与have的异同
(1). 区别点：
there be 意为存在，强调某地有某物，不表示所属关系；
have 表示所有关系， 强调某人或某地有某物，这是其基本用法。
① There are some trees in front of the house.
② Tom has many friends in China.
(2). 相同点：
在表示结构上的含有时，既可以用there be 句型，也可以用have（注意时态和单复数） 来表示。
There are many long rivers in China.
China has many long rivers.

1. there be 结构作宾语时，通常用there to be ，常作这样一些词的宾语：expect, like, mean, intend, want, prefer, hate 等。
① I expect there to be no argument about this.
② I should prefer there to be no discussion of my private affairs.
③ People don’t want there to be another war.
④I’d like there to be a pool in the garden.
⑤ Don’t let there be any noise.
注意：let 后面可以接there to be, 但要省略to
2. there be 结构作介词宾语时，通常用there being, 只有介词是for时，才可用there to be.
① We planned for there to be a meeting on Monday.
② We hope for there to be no wars and killings in the world.
③Tim is waiting for there to be a big party.
④The teacher was waiting for there to be complete silence.
⑤He arranged for there to be another interview.
3. It is +形容词（名词）+for there to be.
此类型相当于”It is +形容词（名词）+for sb. to do”, it 为形式主语，真正的主语是”for there to be”.
① It is enough for there to be 5 minutes.
② It is impossible for there to be any mistake.
③ It was strange for there to be so few people in the church.
④ It is a great pity for there to be any disagreement in the famliy.
⑤I am anxious for there to be plenty of time for discussion.
偶尔有sb+be+ adj +for there to be
there being的用法
(1)There being 在句中主要做原因状语。即可置于句首，也可置于句尾，there 为逻辑主语。
① There being nothing else to do, we went home.
② There being no one help me, I had to do it all alone
.
③ There being no bus, we had to walk home.
④ They closed the door, there being no customers.
As there was nothing else to do, we went home.

(2). there being 可以作为句子的主语，及物动词的宾语和介词的宾语。
①there being 作句子主语
There being a public bus sevice is a great convience to people’s life.
There being some suspicion between us made me anxious.
②there being 作动词宾语
It is hard to image there being a more intelligent boy than him.
I don’t remember there being a table under the tree.
I don’t mind there being any objection to our plan.
She denied there being any misunderstanding between them.
We must avoid there being any harm done to our environment.
③ there being 作介词宾语
I never dreamed of there being a picture on the wall.
He was disappointed at there being no money left.
They were completely unaware of there being a dangerous situation.
John was relying on there being another opportunity
No one told him about there being a meeting this afternoon.
I’ve never heard of there being any difference between the two.
(3). there be +n.+非谓语动词
① “there be+宾语+现在分词”，表示主动关系，动作正在进行或状态。
There is someone waiting for him.
There was a man standing in front of me.
There were some children swimming in the river.
There is a door leading to the garden
② “there be+宾语+过去分词”，表示宾语被动关系，动作表示已经发生。
There was nobody injured.
There is nothing written on it.
There were ten people killed in the accident.
There is a red car parked outside the house.
③. there be +宾语+不定式，表示动作尚未发生。
There was nobody to look after the child.
There was a large crowd to send him off.
There is much work to do (to be done).
there be +no + 动名词
there be +no + doing 基本含义表示的是”不可能做某事“，是说话者对未来是否会发生的事的一种判断，且这种判断是否定的，有时表示”不许可“之意。
There is no denying that she is very efficient.
There is no saying when it will stop raining.
There is no telling when she will come back.
There is no knowing when we shall meet again.
There is no getting over the difficulty.
There is no persuading him to go home.
there be +no + 名词
1. There is no difficulty in doing sth.
做某事没有困难
There is no difficulty in finding his office
2. There is no doubt of/that... 毫无疑问...
There is no doubt of his success.
There is no doubt that she is the best.
3. there is no hurry (to do sth.)
不用急于（做某事）
There is no hurry to return the book.
There is no hurry, so do it slowly and carefully.
4.there is no need for... 不必要....
There is no need for help.
There is no need for you to go.
5. there is no question about.......是毫无疑问的.
There is no question about his success.
There is no question about his honesty..
6. there is no question of ... 做,..是不可能的
There is no question of his coming.
There is no question of our arriving on time
7. there is no sense in doing sth.
做某事没道理/没意义

8. there is no point in doing sth..做某事没用
