教 学目 标 By the end of this section, students will be able to: check and consolidate what they have learnt in this unit when it comes to vocabulary, such as brilliant, contradictory, astronomer and so on; check and consolidate what they have learnt in this unit when it comes to grammar—predicative clauses; have a better understanding of scientific spirit and what scientists do; improve their ability of self-evaluation and reflection.
教 学 主 题 该板块由两部分组成。第一部分是语言知识检测，包含两个活动。活动1是语篇填空，该语篇以浅显的语言简述了科学家的必备素养。活动2仍为语篇填空，聚焦对本单元语法结构的检测。该语篇以生动活泼的语言阐释了科学家的工作内容。
教 学 重 点 引导学生熟练掌握和运用本单元词汇和语法，更好地了解科学家的必备素养和工作内容。
教 学难 点 引导学生结合单元内容进行评价和反思，思考本单元的内容对自己产生的影响，提高自我评价和反思的能力。
教 学 内 容 与 过 程 Step 1 语言知识检测 让学生完成活动1，在理解大意基础上完成填空，引导学生通过上下文猜测生词的含义。 让学生完成活动2，在理解大意基础上完成填空，并就疑难问题引导学生讨论，完成填空后，让学生回顾所填的从句引导词，并朗读这些表语从句。 Step 2 反思与评价 引导学生自由讨论单元内容评价和自我反思部分的问题。 What new ideas did you learn about science and scientists from this unit What new vocabulary and structures did you learn in this unit How well can you use them Did you use any of them in your language activities Do you think the “asking questions” strategy was useful in understanding the texts What problems did you or your friends have with this unit How did you solve the problems What advice did you give each other Overall, I thought this unit was inspiring interesting so-so difficult. Step 3 Homework Revise the words and grammar of this unit based on your self-evaluation.

教 学目 标 By the end of this section, students will be able to: 1. know what “think outside the box” means; 2. know about some unusual inventions and explain their uses; 3. cooperate with other students and create their inventions.
教 学 主 题 该部分是以项目活动的形式综合考查学生本单元所学的内容。本单元的项目活动主题是“打破常规”（Think outside the box）。该部分让学生合作完成任务，综合考查学生对本单元内容的掌握情况。
教 学 重 点 引导学生学习了解若干发明的特点并与同学合作创造发明，然后以小组为单位展示出来。
教 学难 点 引导学生了解“打破常规”对于科学研究的重要意义，掌握科学研究的思维方式。
教 学 内 容 与 过 程 Step 1 Preparation 1. 让学生完成P11活动1，引导以小组为单位讨论活动1中的两个问题并帮助学生解决可能存在的词汇障碍。 2. 引导学生就其中一个发明深入讨论，并尝试解释其工作原理及使用价值，为后续宣传自己的产品做准备。 Step 2 Discuss & Create 引导学生讨论有关发明的想法并选择一项产品/发明，小组成员互助制作工具和图片便于接下来展示。 Step 3 Share & Appreciate 引导学生模仿活动4中的例子，扮演设计者/展示者和用户，以对话的方式介绍和展示自己的发明。 让其他小组投票选出最佳的产品/发明。 Step 4 Homework According to the teacher’s and classmates’ evaluation, improve your group’s product/invention. 备注
