This is Chelsea’s family.
They are ethnic Chinese in the USA.
How do they celebrate Chinese New Year
Hi, I'm Chelsea! My family is getting ready for a big holiday.It's called Chinese New Year.It is on lunar January,1st.It is China's most important holiday.
Some people celebrate it in the United States too.Like me!
Before the Spring Festival,my family will clean our home .We think it can clean last year's bad luck out of our house.Then we're going to buy new red clothes.
Dad says red is for good luck.
On that day,My family will get together and have a have a big dinner .There's fish ,chicken ,beef and lots of other food.
Then my mother and aunt will make dumplings.They're like little cooked pillows with yummy stuff inside.
I can't wait to eat them at midnight.
After dinner,my sister and I are going to play the firecrackers.Fireworks light the sky. It's midnight.
In the next morning,Mom and Dad will give me a red envelope.Chinese New Year really is a lucky time!
