教材分析 This section focuses on the theme task "Improve a draft". The grammar mainly deals with the Phrases, including Noun Phrases, Adjective Phrases and Adverb Phrases. It is expected that students could enrich their oral or written expressions when talking about their teenage life. Henceforth, the grammar carries a considerable significance to the cultivation of students’ language competence and lays a solid foundation for the basic appreciation of language beauty. Students are expected to master the grammar thoroughly and consolidate the knowledge by doing some exercise of good quality.
学情分析 The school is located in a county. Students are in the first year of their senior high school. Everything is new to them, so they have a lot of difficulties in life and study. Henceforth, talking about students’ problems will surely arouse their interests. However, students are relatively weak in speaking and writing.
学习 目标与核心素养 Language ability At the end of this class, students will be able to talk about their own school life correctly and effectively. Students’ deep passion in respecting and loving their school will be able to be aroused. Students will be able to: understand and correctly apply the rules of word order of a phrase whose adjective modifiers are more than two. Students’ learning ability both individually and cooperatively will be able to be improved.

课前准备及导入新课 Step I Lead in Underline the sentences below in the reading passage and mark the phrases that fit the categories below. Take notes and finish the exercises to review what they have learnt about sentence structures. Recall their memory in the sentences they have learnt from this unit and motivate them to observe and think.
课中环节 Activity1: State the functions Activity2: Discuss briefly with a partner the major functions of them make a short summary in a table or mind map. Activity3: Complete the passage by translating the Chinese in brackets into English. Activity4: Answer the questions using the phrase in brackets. Observe and analyze the functions of Noun Phrases, Adjective Phrases and Adverb Phrases in the sentences. Make a short summary in a table or mind map. Find out the answers to the questions using the phrase in brackets Through observation, demonstration, analysis and discussion of the core functions of the phrases, let the students initially perceive and understand functions of Noun Phrases, Adjective Phrases and Adverb Phrases Guide students to review the functions of Noun Phrases, Adjective Phrases and Adverb Phrases and meanings of the target language. Deepen understanding of the functions of the phrases.
课后环节 Work in pairs and look at the sentences below and improve the passage. Help the girl improve it by using noun/adjective /adverb phrases to add more information. Practise using the structure in this unit and get improved.
作业 Make an oral report about your challenges, feelings and solutions as a freshman at senior high school. Consolidate the knowledge and skills students have learned in this lesson.
