Where：Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou , Chongqing, Yunnan, Xi’an... When：summer/winter holiday, on weekend, the spring festival, the national day... How：plane, train, boat, high-way railway, bike... With whom：parents, friends, only yourself... What: to visit famous sights, to eat delicious food and to walk around the city... Why：delicious food, beautiful view/ building, amazing history... Exception: look forward to, I wish/hope/expect... Activity 1: Filling 我和我父母正在计划这周末坐火车去云南。 My parents and I are planning to Yunnan on this weekend by train. 我正在计划在这座城市四处转转，因为北京的建筑物是如此的美丽。 I am planning to walk around the city, because the buildings in Beijing are so beautiful. (目的：帮助学生运用相关表达，明确不同写作要素之间如何安排，同时提供写作例句。) T continues to provide useful sentence patterns for writing the travel plan. (目的：提供尽可能多的常用短语和句子，以便于学生有充足的写作材料。) Activity 2: Filling 1. 我和我的朋友计划去北京爬长城。 My friends and I are planning to go to Beijing to climb the Great Wall. 2. 我们将乘坐飞机，并于周日下午离开。 We are taking the plane, leaving on Sunday afternoon. 3.我对北京期待已久，因为北京有许多美味的食物。 I have been longing for Beijing, because Beijing has a lot of delicious food. 4.我期待你这个暑假的旅行计划。 I am looking forward to your travel plan for this summer vacation. (目的：检验学生使用相关表达的能力，并提供详细的例句，为写文章做铺垫。) Activity 3: Finish their own table about a travel plan. Step 3: While-writing (20 minutes) As a model, T finishes an outline and offers a sample based the outline. At the same time T should stress the letter is a replay, so there should be a greeting at the beginning of this letter. (目的：提供写作范例，有利于之后完整的写作。) T requires Ss to write their own travel plans, and offers some suggestions if necessary. (目的：让学生把课堂所学知识运用于写作上，进行产出。) Step 4: Post-writing (6 minutes) Ss exchange their drafts and use the checklist to give feedback on their partner’s draft. (目的:让学生互评，学生可以明确作文评分的要点，相互学习进步，修改文章。) T guides Ss to revise their own drafts according to partner’s suggestions. (目的：根据同桌的建议并结合测评表，学生完善修改自己的个人简介.) T invites one student to share his writing in class, and gives some comments. (目的：老师点评学生的作文同时指点学生需要改善的地方。) Step 5：Homework(1 minute) Improve their own drafts to present complete compositions.

Dear Richard,
How are you doing My everything is going on well, too. My new school is amazing, and all the teachers and classmates are so friendly. Over the Christmas holiday, my parents and I are going up to London by train. It takes an hour and a half. Since we are staying for a week, we plan on just stretching our legs a little after we arrive and then hitting the sights the next day.
We are planning to see the Tower of London. This is the old castle that the king used to live in. Later, it was used as a prison for people who angered the king. It's also where the marvellous Crown Jewels are located. I just can't wait to see it. It has such an incredible history and there are so many amazing stories connected with it. We're also planning on seeing Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and the Millennium Bridge while we are there, and of course we're going to ride on the London Eye! I think my mother is mostly interested in the shopping, however, so we will also stop by Regent Street.
Well, I guess that's about it for now. I'll buy you a souvenir from the Tower shop. Talk later!
