Weifang is famous for its international(国际的) kite festival.
1989年国际风筝联合会正式成立，总部设于山东潍坊，潍坊也有一年一度的国际风筝节Wei Fang International Kite Festival，在每年的4月20号左右。

世界风筝之都
潍坊市被各国推崇为“世界风筝之都”，国际风筝联合会的总部就设在潍坊风筝博物馆。潍坊是风筝之乡，属中国三大风筝派系之一，与京、津风筝齐名鼎立，享誉中外。潍坊风筝题材多样，具有浓郁的乡土风味和民间生活气息。每年4月20日至25日举行，每年都有来自30个国家和地区的代表团参赛。节庆的活动内容包括：举办开幕式，放飞仪式，国际风筝比赛，国内风筝大奖赛，评选风筝十绝，参观风筝博物馆，观看杨家埠民间艺术表演，参观民俗旅游村，与农民同吃、同住、同娱乐等。
