Class: Class 2, Grade 7
Learning objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
Understand the dialogue better by practicing reading skills of predicting, and reading for gist and specific information;
Use “Shall we do…” and “Let’s do…” to make suggestions; understand the meanings of “So do I.” and “Neither do I.” and use them correctly to show agreement to positive and negative statements;
Reach agreement on activities at Health Camp through discussion;
Teaching focus:
Guiding students to use “Shall we do…” and “Let’s do…” to make suggestions, and use “So do I.” and “Neither do I.” to show agreement to positive and negative statements;
Guiding students to reach agreement on activities at Health Camp through discussion.
Potential difficulty in learning:
Presenting proper reasons for the activities they suggest.
Teaching procedures:

Pre-reading Read the title, the picture and the introduction, and predict where students are and the main idea of the text. To guide students to use the reading skill of predicting
While-reading Scan the dialogue, find out its text type and get its main idea. To help develop students’ reading skills of reading for gist

Act the dialogue out. Discuss if the activities in the dialogue are proper or not. To prepare students for the group activity
Post-reading Plan a half-day programme of activities at Health Camp and reach agreement through discussion. To guide students to make suggestions and show agreement to positive and negative statements correctly and give proper feedbacks to peer presentation

教学设计
一、教材分析
（一）模块分析
U8 Growing healthy, growing strong属于牛津教材7A模块三Diet and health的第一单元，对应2021年《上海市初中英语课程终结性评价指南》中illness and health疾病与健康这一基本素材。后续单元为U9 International Food Festival，U10 A birthday party及拓展单元U11 My food project.
（二）单元分析
本单元由四个课时构成，分别为第一课时Reading：To be a healthy child,介绍健康度假营及活动安排，呈现形式为对话，涉及《评价指南》中interests and hobbies兴趣与爱好这一基本素材。学生在对话中学习如何表达建议（suggestions）、同意与不同意（agreement and disagreement）以及喜欢与不喜欢（likes and dislikes）的功能意念。第二课时Reading：How to be a healthy child健康营资料单的形式介绍三个方面的健康建议，学习使用情态动词should和shouldn’t提出更具体的健康建议。第三课时Listening and speaking: Good habits or bad habits,用一般过去时描述Joe在过去一周的坏习惯以及导致的疾病问题，学习too much/many/fewer/less/not enough等表达不同数量的量词和形容词，巩固使用should表达建议。第四课时Reading：A report on habits,学生学习使用used to句型和not…any longer句型表达习惯的改变，并撰写一份关于坏习惯和好习惯的报告。
二、学情分析
本节课教学对象为我校初一2班，是年级中程度较好的班级。大部分同学对英语学习有较大的兴趣，发言较为积极，喜欢合作，但学生英语水平不平均，个别同学在梳理文本内容及主动发表观点上有困难。
在话题上，学生在6BModule3Unit10接触过关于“Healthy eating”的内容，在6B Module1Unit 3学过关于“Staying healthy”的话题。在功能意念上，学生在6AM1U3Planning a visit中学过Let’s…和Which place shall we…的句型。通过之前的学习，学生已经初步意识到养成一个健康生活习惯，包括合理饮食和适度锻炼的重要性；对于此话题，也已经积累了一些相关词汇和表达，如a healthy diet, indoor and outdoor activities, practise swimming, play badminton three times a week等。同时，学生能对how to stay healthy发表自己简单的观点，也掌握了一定的提建议的句型。在阅读技能训练上，学生经过半个多学期的学习与操练，能完成读图预测、概括大意及信息查找等任务。同时，学生对于如何使用表格、思维导图等可视化工具整理文本内容有一定的实践积累。但本课情境为health camp，学生是第一次接触；如何用So/Neither do I来表达同意与不同意以及通过讨论达成活动共识是本课的教学重点。
三、教学目标
基于对教材和学生情况的分析，并综合考虑本课时的教学重点和学生学习难点后，本节课结束后我希望学生能够达成如下目标：
1. 通过预测、阅读主旨和细节理解对话内容；
2. 运用 Shall we do…和Let’s do…提出建议; 理解So/Neither do I.的意思并正确使用它们来表达对正面和反面表述的赞同;
3. 通过讨论就健康营活动达成共识。
