In this part, students listened to a conversation about cultural influences on American food and practiced the strategy of taking notes. Students also talked about their hometown’s food. Through the tasks, students understood that food was a symbol of culture and there are many phenomena of mixed cultures, which is closely related to the topic of this unit --- diverse cultures. In this class, all the teaching aims are achieved. The performances of the students showed that they not only understood the strategy of taking notes but also were able to use it, which is a surprise to me. What I was quite satisfied with this class is that I always remembered to respond positively to my students. I didn’t just give a right or wrong to the student who shared his/her answer. There are some things that can be improved. Firstly, the time spent on the listening part is a little longer so that the time left for the speaking part is not enough. Next time I should pay more attention to the arrangement of time. Besides, in the speaking part, I should have provided more help for students, for example, some useful structures as I saw some students were not sure what to say. 展开更多...... 收起↑ 资源预览
