Tall or Short
or conj. 或者；还是
e.g. Is he a doctor or a teacher 他是医生还是教师？
—Are you tall or short 你是高还是矮呢？
—I’m short. /Short. 我矮。/ 矮。
拓展：or 用于否定句中，意为“也不”。
e.g. He isn’t a worker or a farmer. 他不是工人，也不是农民。
回答选择疑问句时，一般在所提供的备选对象范围内选择，不能用yes / no 来回答，一般用一个完整的陈述句或其简略形式，主语和谓语均省略。
or 用在选择疑问句中连接被选择的对象。

询问身高的固定句型。回答时可用“主语+be+数词+ 量词（表示单位的名词）+ 形容词”。

辨析：tall 与 high
tall 常用于表示同类之中的较高者；也可表示建筑物很高。
high 一般来修饰山、高大的建筑以及不与地面接触的人或物。
tall 的反义词是short(矮的)。
e.g. She is a tall girl. 她是一个高个子女孩儿。
This building is very tall. 这座楼很高。
The mountain is about 4,000 metres high.
这座山大约有4,000 米高。
The kite is high in the sky.
风筝高高地在天空中。

Her pen is a little longer than his.

a bit 修饰不可数名词时要加of。
a little 可直接修饰不可数名词。
辨析：a bit 与a little
a bit 和a little 在肯定句中修饰形容词、副词的原级和比较级时，可以互换。
修饰形容词
修饰形容词
e.g. Please give me a bit of paper.
请给我一点纸。
I want to drink a little water. 我想喝点水。
I am not a little tired. = I’m very tired.
我非常累。
I am not a bit tired. = I am not tired at all.
我一点儿也不累。
修饰不可数名词，表示“少量；一些”。
not a little ＝ very (much)，意为“非常，很”。
not a bit ＝ not... at all, 意为“一点也不”。

against 作 介词，后可接名词、代词或动名词形式。常与其搭配的动词有be, fight, stand, play 等。
be against 反对
be for 赞成 (be against 的反义词组)
