Step 2 1. The teacher has students watch the first blog entry and answer the relevant questions. (1) What is the flavour of Sichuan hot pots (2) Can you find the words describing the hot pot in the passage (3) What’s the history of Sichuan hot pot 2. The teacher has the students read the three blogs entry and find the information from four aspects: popularity, benefits,features and history. 18’ Pair Work Group Work
Step 3 1.The teacher has the students have a discussion on what factors contribute to the food differences in China 2.What adjectives do the author use when describing the food 10’ Pair Work Group Work
Step 4 Appreciation: “Food” is always first and foremost in everyone’s mind. 5’ Pair Work Group Work
Homework Prepare a speech about traditional Chinese foods with several specific examples.
