教材分析 The theme of this ongoing event is "Report an ongoing event", and the target syntax structure is the passive voice in the present ongoing tense. Rare wild animals are being poached on a massive scale, and species are on the edge of extinction. Rescue operations are underway. "Being," "suffering," and so on show exactly what the present continuous passive voice means. In this unit, you will learn how to use the passive voice in the present continuous tense is/are being done, meaning something is being done at the moment.
学情分析 In Junior high school, students have learned the formation and use of the passive voice, the present simple tense, the past simple tense, and the passive voice with modal verbs. Students have the ability to accurately identify the passive voice and change the voice of sentences, but they are not familiar with the context in which it is appropriate to use. In addition, through the study of the first two periods of this unit, students have a general understanding of the protection of wild animals such as blue whale, giant panda, African elephant and Tibetan antelope.

课前准备及导入新课 Step I Lead in Look at the sentences below, underline the present continuous passive voice,change them into active voice and compare the differences in meaning. Take notes and finish the exercises to review what they have learnt about sentence structures. Recall their memory in the sentences they have learnt from this unit and motivate them to observe and think.
课中环节 Activity1: Observe the following sentences and figure out the function of the present continuous passive voice. Summarize the structure of the present continuous passive voice. Activity2: Choose the suitable verb forms to complete the sentences. Activity3:Finish the following passage with the present continuous passive voice of the verbs in brackets. Activity4:Rewrite the sentences using the present continuous passive voice. (WorkbookP68) Activity5: Complete the speech with the correct sentences or clauses. Then discuss possible solutions in groups. Observe and analyze the function of the present continuous passive voice. Make a short summary in a table. Finish the following series of exercises. Through observation, demonstration, analysis and discussion of the core structure of the sentences, let the students initially perceive and understand functions of the present continuous passive voice. Through the creation of new text, picture description and text filling in the blank, students can understand the content of the text, grasp the context and expression logic, use the correct present continuous passive voice of the verbs.
