教材分析 The theme of this unit is man and nature, around the theme of wildlife conservation, talking about the protection of endangered wild animals. This lesson is part of the Listening and Speaking section. The theme of this unit is wildlife protection. The content of this class mainly covers some photos and posters and two listening materials. The photos and posters are about some endangered animals and the thought-provoking wildlife protection work. The first listening material is a conversation about the necessity to arouse people’s awareness of wildlife protection. The second listening material is about some speeches of the world-famous people and China’s admirable efforts for wildlife protection. These materials mainly examine students’ speaking ability and listening ability. In addition, these offered materials tend to arouse students’ awareness of wildlife protection and make students take action for it actively.
学情分析 Students in this class are outgoing and have a strong interest in learning English. Two thirds of them have good basic English learning skills. One third of the students have a relatively weak foundation in English learning. With teacher’s direction, almost all of them can fetch the needed information and express their opinions smoothly.
学习 目标与核心素养 Language ability 1. Identify some of the words related to the topic of endangered wild animals and plants; 2. Predict listening content through visual materials such as pictures and posters; 3. Listen to the general idea and details of the text. 4. Talk about the living conditions of wild animals and call on people to protect wild animals.

重点 Help students listen for the current situation and problems of wildlife at home and abroad. Encourage students to express their opinions on wildlife protection.
难点 Enable students to capture some detailed information in Listening. Guide Students to express their opinions on how to participate in wildlife protection, and communicate with their peers about the living conditions and protection measures of wildlife in simple English.

Arouse their interest in the topic and provide basic information for them, which helps them listen to find the answers easily.
听中环节 Activity1: Listen to the first and fill in the blanks. Listen to the scripts of the first part. Activity2: Listen to the second part and answer the questions. Listen to the scripts of the first part. Students learn to use these word blocks to simply describe events by using the illustrations given in Activity 1, with the teacher's demonstration and group discussion. Possibly clear away obstacles by presenting Ss with scripts. Help Ss obtain the general information of the dialogues according to the listening tips provided. Based on the background information, enable the students to locate the key words while listening more quickly and exactly. 听后环节 Activity 1: Work in groups. 1. What do you know about the animals in the photos 2. What is being done to help them Find out the useful expressions in the conversation. Use the phrases learnt today to talk about what you can do to help the endangered animals. Enable the students to think creatively based on the information learnt from the listening material. Enable to express their understanding of what you can do to help the endangered animals.
作业 Write down your conversion with your partner and have a conversation again with your parents and put down their opinions and give your opinions about what we can do to protect these wild endangered animals. Consolidate the knowledge and skills students have learned in this lesson.
