Read carefully and answer the questions:
1. What does SOS mean
It means to ask for help.
2. What does Jenny ask Li Ming to write about
She asks him to write about his special talents and personal strengths.
Step 4 Language Points
1. What’s up 有什么事吗
询问别人有什么事:What’s up
What’s up 是口头语,意为“有什么事吗 / 怎么了 / 怎么样 / 如何 ” 和它相同的表达还有:What’s the matter ... /What’s wrong...
如：—What’s up 有什么事吗
—Nothing. 没什么事。
2. We are supposed to describe ourselves in a report.
1) be surpposed to 应该做某事
例：We are supposed to finish the work tomorrow.
2) ourselves 反身代词，意思是 “我们自己” 常用作宾语或同位语。
例：We did the work ourselves.

1）seem+形容词/名词，似乎……

think about 思考，考虑
think over 认真思考
think of 认为，想起

你觉的这部电影如何？
Please think it over.
请仔细考虑它。
5. What are you proud of 你有什么值得自豪的
be proud of 表示“以……而自豪冶,含褒义,其后可接名词、代词和动名词,相当于take pride in。
如：I’m proud of being a Chinese. 我以自己是中国人而感到自豪。
They were proud of their son for his success.
他们为儿子的成功而自豪。
He is a boy any parent would be proud of .
他是一个令任何家长都感到自豪的孩子。
【注意】be proud of...和take pride in....都表示“以……而自豪冶,但proud 用作形容词,意为“自豪的”,pride 为名词,意为“自豪”。
